I was at an anime con too, Luffy - just a *little* bit north of Phoenix, though: Anime North in Toronto.
I was at the Nominoichi (flea market) last night and picked up some used DVDS: TV Series Maria Watches Over Us, Season One (the original version, not the litebox) - $15 Neo Ranga Complete Collection (thinpak) - $5 OAV Crying Freeman Complete Collection - $15 (the old ADV release, not the newer Eastern Star one) Kai Doh Maru - $5 Starship Girl Yamamoto Yohka - $1 Very Private Lesson - $10 And Red Hawk - Weapon of Death (which is actually a Korean animated film) - $5 Total: $56 There's on thing I let go by that I'm kinda kicking my ass about: a seller had Haruka volumes 1 thru 8 for $50. That would have meant I would have had to try to find vol 9 some where else and right now the cheapest Amazon has it for is $70 (Amazon Canada says it has a new copy for $31, but I don't believe them). Thing is that I don't know if I would even enjoy the show - it looks kinda reverse harem-y which is not my fave genre. ... Aw crap, I blew it, didn't I? |

I would go back and accept that offer if possible. Volume 3 is also incredibly hard to find, more so than 9. Took me a good year of daily Amazon scouring to find a one.

I really liked this show. Each episode is really short though, so you have to get used to it. I thought the English dub was fine except for the overwrought narration that closes the episode. But that teacher's purple roadster is so ridiculous. Hope you like it, you'll have to tell me how you think (about hte show, not the car) |

@ Wooga - more than happy to tell you what I think, but you'll probably have to be patient. I have a bad habit of buying stuff and then not watching it until years later - the disadvantage of having a huge backlog.
@ luffy - going back is not a option. The flea market is over and I didn't take the seller's contact info, so I can't get in touch with her. Besides, I'm sure somebody more intelligent than I am snapped it up. I'm not super-broken up because I'm not sure I'd even enjoy the show and I'm not in the reselling business so the fact that I could have turned around and made a profit on the buy holds zero appeal for me. |

Placed a pretty big order on Amazon:
Hellsing Ultimate Vols 5-8 BD/DVD Limited Edition Serial Experiments Lain BD/DVD Limited Edition Sundome GN 3 20th Century Boys GN 16 20th Century Boys GN 17 Mardock Scramble GN 5 Mardock Scramble GN 6 7 Billion Needles GN 1-4 Under Defeat HD Deluxe PS3 Game Amazon Canada is pricey as f*ck. Last order with them for a while. Wanted to get 7 Billion Needles since it's going out of print, and ended up adding a bunch of extra stuff . |

Mate, stop worrying. You probably wouldn't like it. There's no good reason to spend over $100 for the whole set (even if it is a bargain) if you probably wouldn't like it. I understand the collector's mentality but, you know — spend that money on something you probably would like instead! |

@ ailblentyn - you are the voice of reason, thank you. I really wish I didn't have this collector's mentality. I think you are probably right and I wouldn't dig the show, but that dumb Collector's Brain of mine... Oh well, as you say, better to spend that cash on something I know for sure I'll like.

@Blood-
I only buy as well but I would've gladly made an OOP for OOP trade with you for those particular dvds. It's another that I skipped over the first time around and have only ever picked up a few of the volumes since. *** Most recently I pledged enough to get a limited edition illustration of Nagi that will be sent out in October. It's for this release of Time of EVE: Movie on blu-ray at Kickstarter. |

5$ for neo ranga is a very good deal
here are some things I got in recently I ordered the 4 most recent haruhi books from barnes and nobles but one was shipped separately for some reason and that package has been lost in the mail - lol! they have offered to refund or replace it though I'm going to build a Home NAS and am thinking about putting my anime collection on it, not sure yet, it's a bit of a pain. the power supply was on sale for 30$ and is modular. the vox aura is a plastic model kit and compatible with the nendoroid mayuzumi is a mail order exclusive from hobby japan |
