AYU!!!
Oh yeah, I defientely can't wait for this remake! Though I have to say, KyoAni's Nayuki looks a little more respectable than Toei's version. And obviously this Yuuichi looks FAR superior and more appealing than the last one.

Ayu!!!!!!!
All the main characters are looking great. The music sounds better. Heck, even the forest looks better.
The long wait for Kanon Prelude continues.......
Come on Geneon. License this one!

I don't get why anyone would be excited over this. The original was absolutely horrible (not just the animation, but the story was incredibly lame as well) and so far below Air its not even funny. Seems like just cheesy romantic crap with freakish eyes (wish the new studio would have at least come up with an original, non-mutant style.)

I always wanted to watch this series after I saw Air. It's very tempting to download the original series, but I think I can hold out until October >>.

I'm looking forward to this. The first version of Kanon was excellent, and the 2006 version I believe will be better (or at least I expect it to be better). The animation looks great and especially... the music used here is its original game soundtrack by Visual Art's/Key (Orito Shinji, Maeda Jun, et al.) and I'VE.
The anime for "Air" used its original game music, and it turned out excellent, so I hope it will be the same for Kanon (2006) also.

That's all I have to say.
I for one am very much looking forward to this. Kyoto Animation really seems to know how to make some quality animation, and I'm a crazy Key fan. :b What I'm really looking forward to, though, is the Clannad movie (and dare I hope for a TV series to follow, a la Air?).

Seeing as how I gave the Toei version an "Excellent" even though the animation was beyond horrible (I LOVE Kanon!), I'll not hesitate to give a KyoAni version "Masterpiece" as soon I as watch the first episode in the fall.
At least we know already that there will no longer be a Yuuichi "nose of death"...

I was kinda hoping they would drop the characters mouths down a bit. It's kinda disturbing see them up that high.

KyoAni's doing this instead of more SHnY? >_<
The scenery art seems so beautiful, though. :O

I knew someone was going to say something like that eventually.
I'm actually a bigger fan of Kanon than Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, so I really don't mind this at all. I can see how Haruhi fans might treat the new Kanon as an enemy though (if it was...let's say...Tenjou Tenge 2006 instead, I might be a bit bitter too...).
Ayu FTW! ~Uguu! (Almost finished with her storyline in the game ^__^)

But isn't it possible that since Kanon had a cameo in Air TV that Kanon 2006 was planned before SHnY?

Interesting indeed. I liked the way they started out with the toy box music, I wonder if that will probably be used in scenes in the show.

What? Have you no heart? Have you no emotion?
After episode 6, the original Kanon was a real kick in the arse. I have no problem admitting that I cried like a baby in at least two episodes. The only problems might have been certain elements in the ending, but that was mild to me. The other would be that the six set-up episodes weren't the greatest, but they did their job. Again, a minor complaint.
With a new, longer series, I'm hoping that the new series will get licensed and that we'll get some greater fleshing out of the characters.

I assume that the song being played in the second half of the trailer is the new opening theme. It's catchy JPop, but it's not as good as Fluorescence, IMO.
