Redirecting non-subscription users

I have a subscription to ANN, so I get the fast.animenewsnetwork.com address on my articles. When I read something on ANN I want to share with a friend, I'll send them the URL as animenewsnetwork.com/shelf-life/2013-04-01.

However, when they click on it, if they don't have a subscription or aren't logged in, it redirects them to the forum login page. I have to edit the URL to http://[www].animenewsnetwork.com/shelf-life/2013-04-01 before sending it to anyone.

It's a minor amount of work on my end, but it can be annoying when it's forgotten. Is there any way you can change the redirection for non-subscription access of articles to the [www].animenewsnetwork.com servers instead?

I personally like the current behavior, and would not want it changed. I always go to ANN by typing fast.animenewsnetwork.com, and if I'm logged out for some reason, then I'll want to log in. It is convenient for subscribers to have it take you to the login page when you try to access the fast server while logged out. I don't think most people who aren't subscribers would be trying to access the fast server. I think you should just edit the URLs before sending them to your friends (that is what I do when I post ANN URLs on other sites such as Wikipedia).

This will be changed soon. If someone goes to fast and doesn't have a subscription, they'll be given the option of redirecting to www.

Another option would be for the fast index page to continue to offer the login option, while all other links (such as to articles) are automatically switched over to www if you aren't logged in.

As you've probably noticed, we've completely changed what happens when someone goes to fast.animenewsnetwork.com.

1) They are shown a login page with no skin
2) They are given the option to redirect to the same page on www
