It doesn't say that it was the manga that got him fired, and besides it could have been something really nasty that didn't have any place in a school. Sounds to me, like he got what he asked for.

Except they are still giving a false impression about what anime is. The idea that anime is just violence and porn wouldn't be as widespread if not for the media going around implying it as such.

If you watch the video it says that they where cartoon styled porn pictures not anime, but i don't know why they would put anime on the website???

Yeah, because a response like that really does a whole lot to defeat that impression. It's not false, anime is largely known for often containing material that is more adult oriented. Come on, in the whole US vs. anime style debates that is often one of the most commonly cited reasons is the higher maturity level of anime. What makes that maturity level higher? It's generally material that is more adult oriented. Now it also says "often", I can go eat at McDonalds once a week and I could tell anyone that I eat there often and it wouldn't be a lie, doesn't mean a majority or even 50/50, could be as low as 20% really. While you might hate people you think are giving anime a bad name, I'm sure they hate people who are oversensitive to the subject matter rather than actually looking at the situation objectively and realizing that, gee, there might just be that less attractive side to it. |

Whatever it was: hentai anime/manga or whatever...What was that idiot doing with it at school? Is/was he OUT OF HIS PEA-PICKING MIND!!! What has happened to common sense. Like this recent trend of FEMALE teachers having sex with their underage students? THAT is a WTF?!

AHA! Someone else reads the Drudge Report! Didn't get any further than the report of some anime found. KNew that any further reading was going to waste my time, truth was not sought in the article, but lasciviousness, and saliciousness, scandal!
Anime being foreign in and of itself, is a perfect straw man to a journalist, it cannot defend itself, and should it try, well just show some examples of how degenerate Japanese society is, can you say yaoi? I wonder if we need to have on the tips of our tongues, names of adult, but not ecchi, anime titles? |
