I have recently finished watching Full Metal Panic - The Second Raid and I was wondering if anyone has any news regarding a new series airing in japan/in production etc. I really enjoyed all 3 series of the anime and I'm really curious as to what happens next!
I have searched but have found it hard to find any related info. Does anybody out there know anything about this??? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers! |

If there is any new info, you can expect to see it on ANN's front page.
There is an OVA that was just released, but it is essentially fanservice. It just chronicles a day in the life of Tessa (from what I understand as I haven't seen it yet myself) and doesn't continue the story. |

I agree completely on the first point. On the second point, the OVA proves that FMP! just isn't as good without Kaname, but then again, I'm not a Tessa fanboy. FMP! is truly at its best when revolving around Sousuke and Kaname. If more FMP! animation was to be produced, the next installment would either be more side stories or an adaptation of A Dancing Very Merry Christmas. spoiler[Because of the previous plane hijacking incident, Jindai High Class 2-4 is offered a free Christmas cruise trip. The last thing you would expect on this ship, though, would be another hijacking incident, right? For Class 2-4, that simply isn't the case. This time, however, it's Mithril doing the hijacking. They hijack the ship to counter a planned operation by Amalgam. December 24 is also the birthday of both Kaname and Tessa. Drama ensues for our poor hero, Sousuke, as he sorts out his love life, or perhaps lack thereof. He does, however, make an explicit "choice" toward the end when prompted by Tessa, even though it was obvious before anyway. Sousuke also gets closer to his AS. Sousuke & Al, BFF!] |

Thanks for all the info. I have just seen the ova and thought it was pretty good considering it's off the story line.
Quite dissapointed that there doesn't seem to be any more anime in line for FMP! Is this because people didn't like it??? Personally, I think it is a shame to leave it where it is. But thats my opinion. Thanks again. (On a side note, I agree with one3rd about the Sousuke-Kaname point. I don't think Tessa gives the same feel to the story that Kaname provides, and the ova does serve to prove that point.) |

It's too early to say that there won't be more FMP! animated. There was almost a year and a half between the last aired episode of Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu and the announcement of Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid. Just be patient. If nothing is announced within the next year or two, then it would be safe to assume that there won't be any more FMP! animated. |

Oh, oops. I completely forgot to look there. Thank you for reminding me. So since it's been about 8 months, i better hear about a 3rd season within 10 months or i'll be pissed

Yea, TSR is the 3rd season, but i always felt that fumoffu was just a side story that isn't connected to FMP at all. Also, TSR means the second raid so that helps in me calling it the second season.
