Could be good. Aniplex is known to do at least a decent job.

I wonder when the American fans are going to start screaming "They're taking an American product and raping it!!!" like seemingly every Japanese Anime fan I talk to says when America takes a Japanese product... Laughing

... because I'm doing it right now. Seriously. My insides are furious at this development. I saw almost every clip and screenshot, and I was not thrilled with what I saw. Evil or Very Mad

I was sort of believing the rumor that it was an april fool's joke 'cause it's trailer was debuted on April 1st, 2005. Guess not? The only trailers I've been able to find have horrid quality, though.

Interesting re-interpretations. If that's how the leading ladies look, I wonder what they're gonna do for everyone else like Mojojojo, the mayor, and the one I'm most interested in seeing Ms. Bellum. I'm also curious as to if they will keep the standalone episode nature of the series or if they're gonna eventually have one or a few story arcs.

I for one am looking forward to it, even as an American fan of the original PPGs. It helps to keep an open mind about things. That way you are less likely to miss out on life.

Bubbles looks insanely cute. I'm happy.

Honestly, this is something I would be fairly curious about, particularly depending on who the seiyuu are and everything. Given how different the characters themselves look, I don't feel like I'll have the issue of trying to compare the show with the original cartoon. It's too different, something I tend to like, as it means the comparisons don't work and I can enjoy each series individually. Well, assuming this end up being good enough to watch. Or at the very least, cute enough to watch.

It seems like an acceptable give and take here. We all are aware that the PPG's borrow from certain anime elements and clichés so now that they are making it into an anime its just like a "here's what you wanted all along Genny Tarakoskva(?)". And I'm sure that they will just do the stand along episode format but I willing t watch it if it ever goes cross country. As long as it doesn't end up like that god awful Rugrats-All Growed Up BS it should make for a failry decent show. The PPG's in highschool? I'd watch it.

I'd take the hint of age from the number in his name, though he's not acting like it.
Back on topic: I wouldn't complain too much because there's been some Japanese projects that have been "americanized" so we could probably use a show that's "japanized". Although seeing is believing.

If only all Japanese anime fans shared that perspective.

I was wondering if this thing was still in production. It was supposed to come out summer of last year in Japan but it never debuted and then it just seemed to fade away for a while. I'm glad that it's still in production and hopefully it'll be released soon. I'm really looking forward to this. I used to be a fan of the original PPG until it started becoming too repeative and it started losing its comedy charm (don't even get me started on that awful PPG movie). I really like their new looks. It kind of reminds me of the style that was used in that recent Astro Boy remake they had not too long ago.

I also like some of the concepts they're going with this new show. It looks more like this is going to be a complete re-imagining of the Powerpuff Girls rather than a simple remake of the American cartoon. I hope this won't be as repeative as the American cartoon got and that they'll keep the great comedy that the earlier episodes had. Considering that the Powerpuff Girls are pretty popular in Japan, I have high expectations for this and I hope it'll be brought over here eventually and if they do dub it that they keep the actors from the original American cartoon.

Wow. I'm 13, and I'm proud to say that I've never talked like you in my life.

Anyway, I really want to see this and indeed, Bubbles is SO cute.
