I've been wondering if ADV was going to release thinpacks for Cromartie High School and Excel Saga. In my view, though, the nature of those series and the amount of cultural notes & extras on the original releases makes these the most useless thinpacks ever. Considering that the Excel Saga ImPerfect Collection can be found for about $50-$60 online, no discerning fan would pay that same price for the thinpack, unless they were really short on shelf space. At least CHS will be better price-wise than the singles+box.

I've been meaning to check out Shura no Toki and now I've even less excuse not to. Does anyone have any idea of what kind of prices these are going to have?
Edit: nevermind, I just noticed they had all of the prices listed on AnimeonDVD
-_-; With discounts, SnT's $90 MSRP will probably fall in the $60-70 range so, yep, 26 episodes for that price gives me little reason to not buy it

When I first saw this news article, I though that they were announcing the release date for the next volume of the Excel Saga manga. I am disapointed

As interesting as the extras and cultural notes may be, I think I'm going to opt for these thinpaks. I love the Cromartie manga, but I got turned off the series buy the first episode. I am willing to give it another chance, though, if the thinpak is cheap enough.
As for Excel Saga, the second half of the series is pretty mixed in quality, and compaired to the manga, it blows. So I've been hesitating on buying this series, since I wouldn't even bother watching over a 1/3 of the episodes (or even the dubs of the other eps.). But a thinpak - yeah I could go for that.

I thought ADV gave up the Papuwa license.
