Oh! I remember watching this when it came out, and I liked it! It's gonna get dubbed?! Awesome! Seriously, Maiden Japan. You guys are getting awesome. I'll gladly own this and Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 when they come out! Very Happy

YESSSSSS!!! Oh I've wanted this series for a long time. I really enjoyed it. Definitely going to pick this up. Now I can add this to my shelf with 'Tokyo Magnitude 8.0'

Now will someone please release 'Dennou Coil', the rest of 'Higurashi' and 'RE:Cutie Honey'.

This is one of the first anime I remember watching. I wasn't particularly thrilled with it, but since its so short I wouldn't mind rewatching it, I will probably appreciate it a lot more now.

I guess this marks Maiden Japan's first dubbed DVD-only release. Interesting.

I thought they wouldn't be doing any bilingual releases unless there was a bluray to go along with it, but I suppose I was wrong.

They'll dub it, but not put it on BD?

Also, no mention of Bost? Razz

Has Maiden Japan said that? I thought that was that "other" company... Razz

I assume you mean Sentai, and they never stated that. Their company policy is that they don't currently do sub-only blurays. They do release bilingual DVDs from time to time, including Princess Resurrection, Blue Drop, ICE, Book of Bantorra, etc.

Maiden Japan is also releasing Vampire Princess Miyu on bilingual DVD. As for Momo, it likely doesn't have HD masters available at the present time. I also don't believe it's been released in Japan on bluray, so the chances of getting a bluray here are very slim.

I remember watching Hanbun Tsuki ga Noboru Sora (which shared a block with this series), but never getting around to this way back when it was fan translated. It looked like a neat show.

Interesting to see this get picked up after all these years, and with the all the "frills."

I'm happy about this release. I'll definitely try to make room in my budget to pick this one up. I remember liking it way back when, but my recollection of it has somewhat faded since then, and because it's so short, this release will offer a perfect opportunity to rewatch the series.

On a more broad note, I'm incredibly enthusiastic about this trend of going back and picking up older titles that for whatever reason were never released in the West. I'd have never guessed that this title would get released, but in light of this news, I'm getting cautiously optimistic about some of the shows I'd long given up hope of seeing released. I got my fingers crossed for Umi Monogatari personally, but there are a lot of great candidates in the back catalogue.

I might be interested in this... more importantly it's reminded me to pick up Shigofumi: Tales from the Departed.

EDIT: Sorry, I mean Shigofumi: Letters from the Departed.

I LOVE THAT SERIES!

I'm probably going to pick up this series as well, since it's short, and sounds like it might be similar to Shigofumi.
