What was the first anime you ever saw? Was it a boring one that made you give up animation for awhile or later come back to anime through another anime ( or the same on). The first anime I ever saw was Ronin Warriors along time ago. I thought it was cool how they had animated characters, who were using swords and other cool weapons.
What anime was it for you?

My first anime was Samurai Pizza Cats! I wish those days would return. I love the pizza cats.

Sailor Moon - watched it several years ago...but, I didn't know what it was or that it was anime. I just knew it was on tv and it was something to watch.
I didn't become interested in anime until after I watched Spirited Away a couple of months ago.

Voltron, Robotech.
Later Sailor Moon and Tekamen Blade, at least I think that is what it was.

Does anyone remember Gataiga (Gatiger?) It was released about the same time as Raideen and Ikyusan if I remember, but I can not find a single mention of it on the internet. All those shows are somewhat buried in my memories as the first shows I remember as a young anime fan. The first series which I bought models books etc. was the original Gundam! I used to even buy all those nast Morinaga candy boxes which included those tiny model kits! To this day I can't eat a Chocoball!

Don't you hate it when you know a word, but for the life of you ya can't figure out how to spell it?
I *think* what you're looking for Cho Supercar Gattaiger. When you called it Gatiger I had a feeling it had something to do with the word "gattai" meaning "combination". I tried it with a couple different sufixes, first ga, but that didn't give many results, so then again with ger and got Cho Supercar Gattaiger. According to Toybox DX it's about 4 cars that combine to make a bigger car. From what I can tell it's another Go Nagai creation that he had originally designed for some sort of giant robot movie and then kept for his own.
I hope that helps.

Battle of the Planets/G-Force on CFCF-12 in Montreal sometime around 1980 (when I was 5 or 6).

Project A-ko. I was home sick from school some time in the early or mid 90s and ran across it on the Sci-Fi channel. It wasn't more than a few years after that when I found out about anime, although I didn't start seriously persuing it until Cowboy Bebop ran on Adult Swim.

okay here's the deal. at first I didn't like DBZ...then I did...then I watched Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim and found there was other stuff than DBZ. so I started watching more and more stuff and I rented a video of Vampire Princess Miyu. and realized I had seen it before. so I'm not really sure what the very first was. I also remeber watching a Speed Racer video a long long time ago.
