Eureka 7 and Beastie Boys connection?

Yes, but it's not like Michael or Joseph. Adrock is his stage name, not a real name. I think it's a reference. Also, I was looking at the encyclopedia entry, and I read the trivia, seeing if this was mentioned. It was not, but I did see that two characters were named after Ray Charles. So, there may be more than on music reference.

Yes it is referencing the beastie boys. A later ep is even named after a beasty boys album. The entire groundwork for the show is practically based on music, so expect to see tons of references throughout the show.

There are a lot of references to my generation’s music and culture. One of the main characters is named after a character in “Trainspotting.” Another is named Thurston, after Thurston Moore, of Sonic Youth. The father’s name is Adrock, like Adrock from the Beastie Boys. The grandfather is named Axl, after Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses. The different generations in the show are represented by different music cultures. The youngest generation is represented by references to dance music, techno, and house. Hip hop represents the next generation, and rock represents the oldest generation.
