Oh, Smile Precure seems to be really popular. Too bad the series is finished. I wonder about the average household rating of the finale.

I've noticed for a while that most of the animated shows are "kiddie" (I said most, not all). I wonder how this would look if you removed the "kiddie" shows.

Pretty bad. Most late night anime, which is the seasonal stuff, gets less than 1% ratings. Only Noitamina (which used to do 5% but now typically does about 1.5-2%)and the more popular stuff (like Vividred made news getting 3.7% its first episode) go over that.

I wonder how Vividred's been doing since - it's not unusual to see a large drop from premier to the second episode and I can't help but wonder how big its will be.

It's either popular children's shows like Conan, Doraemon, One Piece, and Precure or low-rated late-night adult anime. But otaku/adult stuff doesn't really rely on ratings for profit so it's not really a big deal. Some children's shows don't rely on ratings either. They either exist to boost manga sales or sell a product

Thank you for doing these : ) I like having up to date information on rankings, seeing them a week behind always agonizes me and the fact that you show more than just the Top 10 is great as well
