I thought I'd rather not add any specific title for the risk of spoiling?
But there seems to be an unspoken agreement among writers* that when the supporting character steps into the spotlight, he/she is at critical risk of being gone by the end of the episode. *Except if you're Urobuchi, of course, than you can just skip the time for teary good-byes completely and have your characters kill each other (or themselves) any way you see fit to torture your audience.

Not trying to spoil anything but spoiler[Angel Beats!] would definitely fit into that category. I think that was more because of the series length though. |
