Amazon.com issue with Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water

So, my birthday is coming up, and I asked my mother for Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water Collection 1. (I previously got Collection 2 using a gift card on RightStuf.com)

She went on Amazon and ordered one, but got an email saying it's on backorder. They said they would let her know when they got a shipment in.

She doesn't know about the whole thing with ADV splitting into different companies and whatnot. I'm worried that this thing being on backorder means I will never get the DVD because of ADV technically not existing anymore.

I assume this means that they don't make the DVD anymore. What do you suppose?

nadia was still being printed as a collection by Section 23, as well.
there are two versions, so you need to find out exactly what she ordered and from who. once is ADV 2004, the other section 23, 2008.
did she buy it from amazon? or a reseller on amazon?

if it is from amazon directly and is 2008, what is the back order time? You will probably receive it once they find a wholesaler or get a new shipment.
or tell your mom just to get you a used copy, they are plenty available and under 30$.

She said she ordered it from amazon themselves and not a seller.

that's fine, that is the correct one
if you log into the amazon account is should say something like this under 'your orders'

"back-ordered"
estimated 4 weeks

Nadia secret of blue water

if there is no estimate, it means they dont know and that has a chance of being canceled
unless you really need it this week I wouldnt worry about it though if you got it for a good price

Rightstuf doesn't have any copies of it so I assume that Amazon will not either. Might have to go after the single volumes or go with a second-hand transaction.
