Nitpick: "Illinois'" versus "Chicago" makes for an odd headline. Maybe the writer didn't know where Rosemont is? (it's adjacent to O'Hare Airport, very much in Chicagoland).
At any rate, I'm already pre-reg'ed for ACen, and am very psyched to see Kalafina there. |

I was contemplating attending Anime Central again this year; now it's a sure thing. I've liked everything that I've heard from Kalafina and would love to hear them in live concert.

No, they attended Anime Expo in 2011. Last year Yuki Kajiura brought FictionJunction with her to AX. I saw Kalafina when they were at Anime Boston, and they put on a great show. Definitely will be a treat to all those attending Anime Central. |

At least this year they are being smart and outsourcing the concert to a nearby theater that could handle the large crowd of attendees.
After the issues with FLOW's Friday night concert in 2011, and then the complaints and comments because of the masquerade's cancellation and the like in 2012, I like that they are factoring their size and now they can have extra room (and time, I'd like to think) to fit in all of their big events and please everyone. Granted, if a fire alarm isn't pulled this year. =P |

How nearby is it? Within walking distance of the main convention center and the main hotels? |

It is a very short walk from the convention center main entrance it is a 4 min walk if you walk slowish, the Hyatt it is about 11 min and the Double Tree you basically have to cross a street. |

I haven't been to Acen in two years and tbh I hope they can get this concert underway without any management problems like they've been having as of late. I heard last year was a total mess with everything being delayed or canceled.
Shame that I live like 4 hours away now instead of the 45mins I used to travel to get there. I would go if the price of taking the amtrack or the bus wasn't almost double the amount I would pay for the badge itself. |

So I'm confused about something:
Does that mean the "tickets" are automatically granted to those that registered for ACen itself, or does it mean that ACen attendees have to/can only purchase tickets to this event? Also, is this technically part of the con repertoire of stuff to do, or is Kalafina concert just happening at the same time as ACen? Either way, how much are tickets (if they do indeed need to be separately purchased) ? I'll get them as soon as I get paid (well as soon as I put money aside for stuff I need to get paid like rent)! Best ACen news so far... I can't wait for what all else is gonna be announced as May draws closer. |

I read that as meaning that you must be a registered attendee at ACen to be able to get a ticket to the event. Now, whether that means you'll have to purchase the ticket to the concert, or if you just have to sign up for it and it's free, that's something that will apparently be posted later on on the website for ACen. Some conventions, like Anime Boston, hold their concerts at no extra charge. Others, like Anime Expo, often charge for the concerts. Having not been to ACen, I don't know what their policy tends to be for these things. |

If I'm basing everything off the posts by El Ken (who is in charge of Guest Relations), the tickets will likely come at an extra cost because of it being at a separate venue, similar to how tickets for their Crystal Ball formal dance came at an extra cost. Usually the concerts for A-Cen are free with the purchase of your badge. This year, because the concert isn't being held at the main hotel (Hyatt Regency O'Hare), I'm not surprised it'll cost a little more to see the concert at the Akoo Theater. |

The event is indeed only open to convention goers and will be an upcharge event with reserved seating. It is first come first serve to get tickets when they become available, I would recommend preregestering for that reason.
For those with disabilities there will be transportation. |
