AnimeNEXT is proud to announce a whole bunch of Industry Guests for 2006. Among the 2006 Industry personnel are Mari Morimoto, Trish Ledoux, Toshifumi Yoshida, and David A. Williams,
Osaka-born and Manhattan-raised, Ms. Morimoto never strayed far from urbanity until she spent 9 years at Cornell. She got her foot in the door with VIZ Media through luck and circumstance, and since then has expanded her resume to include panelist, panel leader, GoH personal assistant and interpreter, and GOH at several Northeast cons. She has also contributed several articles to the English edition of Shonen Jump. This is Mari'sthird appearance at AnimeNEXT. She will be participating in several manga-related panels throughout the weekend.
Her current translating duties include Naruto, InuYasha, and Knights of the Zodiac, but she has also previously translated Dragonball, Maison Ikkoku, One Pound Gospel, and the Di Gi Charat anthology.
Trish Ledoux is an experienced and renowned translator, editor and ADR script writer in the United States. Trish Ledoux was among the originators of the original Animag at the beginning of American anime fandom. She then went on to VIZ Communications, where she served as editor in chief on the Animerica magazine. Trish has worked on the translation and adaptation of many well known anime to English for the American audience; including Ranma ½, Adieu Galaxy Express 999, Outlanders and Video Girl Ai. Trish has also worked on several manga being released in the United States.
Toshifumi Yoshida is returning to AnimeNEXT in 2006. Toshi is probably best known to the US anime fan as the producer of several fan favorite anime shows like InuYasha and Ranma ½. Toshi began his career at VIZ Video, and he has worked on such projects as Please Save My Earth; Jin-Roh; Video Girl Ai; Key the Metal Idol and Otaku No Video. Toshi recently served as producer for the InuYasha movie,
InuYasha: Affections Touching across Time.
David L. Williams is a producer/director for ADV, he is also their DVD producer. David has worked with ADV from the beginning when it was a closet in a game store and he used his living room to work on Devil Hunter Yohko. He has been an anime fan even longer having helped Matt Greenfield with Anime Nasa and Janice Williams run W.H.A.T., both anime clubs in Houston. Shows he has directed include, Angelic Layer, Pretear, Najica, the original Nuku Nuku OVAs, Dirty Pair and many others.
Look for more Industry Guests to be added to the AnimeNEXT line up soon.
