This I was not aware of, at all. I really should just get this and finish the unfilled hole InuYasha left in my anime memories years ago. |

I honestly think Kira Tozer does a great job for Kagome and comes off somewhat less annoying and grating on the ears.
But as the review said, holy hell did everyone just fall back into their roles like they'd never left them in the first place. Richard Cox, Kelly Sheridan, Paul Dobson, Kirby Mirrow and so so so many others just took the characters back on like it was nothing and I'm probably going to be picking up this bluray at some point just for that english dub alone. |

The pacing of these episodes is pretty good. A lot hapens in one episode now.

From what I remember watching on Hulu, the first few episodes actually have too much going on. It's like the show recklessly zooms through the material, culminating in an episode where it stuffs two separate stories involving Shippo into one, creating a rushed, confusing mess. But the show does eventually settle down. |

Yeah, this is precisely what the "not always smooth in execution" comments in the review were referring to. |

I enjoyed these episodes, but I do agree that some early episodes do feel rushed. I'm looking forward to see how it ends. Speaking of which, I just had RightStuf send out the second blu-ray set today.

Well, you guys have to remember that The Final Act was trying to cover 21 volumes of materials in 26 episodes. I haven't seen it yet (although my friend does have the first half on DVD), but I'm honestly not surprised if some of the episodes are rushed so they can try to fit in as much of those volumes they could.

I might not get the TFA series. I watched the episodes online years ago when they first came out but I was not impressed that they took the rest of the series and crammed it into 26 episodes. I have the entire Inuyasha series on DVD only because back in the early 2000s, you couldn't find everything online.

Awwww, kaede and kohaku got replaced English VAs too? Damn I didn't know that. I always enjoyed kaede's voice in the original tv series too.
InuYasha has always been one of my favorite anime of all time, and I do already own the first set of TFA, but I haven't caught any of it yet because I've been hoping to revisit the original series first, since its been a while and I could use a refresher. So it will definitely be a while till I get around to this. I've already read the manga though so I know where this story goes. Man, knowing how much material they had to cram into this show does make me nervous about potential pacing problems, not to mention that a lot of the original manga's material had to be altered just to cram it all into the show. I am hopeful that this new show will live up to the level of enjoyment I got out of the first series, however I wouldn't be surprised if I end up being a little disappointed by the end of all of this. |

It was pretty much a given that Kohaku's VA would be replaced since McKinnon is older now and his voice has changed since then (IIRC, it was apparent in Galaxy Angel S-X, which was several years ago). |

IIRC, Kaede only appears in two episodes in Final Act, a change in voice wouldn't be TOO much of a big deal.
Who voices Sota and Eri in this season? Saffron Henderson or Rebecca Shoichet? Someont totally different? Both actresses voiced both characters in the original seasons at different points. |

Or, as I termed it during the original airing, "Inuyasha on speed crack." |

I just got my second set of the Final Act last night and maraothoned it. It feels good to get an actual conclusion to this show. The VA's that returned seemed like there wasn't any gap in the series. The new ones did pretty well, and I'd say I probably liked Sesshomaru's new voice better. The other new ones did well, but after seeing the whole series, it's impossible not to notice. Eventually, I was able to slip in and enjoy the series, regardless, so it's not a complete loss on that end.
Having a scenario where they had 26 episodes to WRAP IT UP, was probably the most jarring thing since substantial advancements in the plot actually happen, but the show really did need that final kick. |

Well, I didn't know Shippo was that kind of guy... hope it's not too serious. I also have to agree with the review: if you have seen and liked the original TV series this is a must watch as this final act, well, ends it, fairly satisfactory I might add. |
