Call me immature, but I happen to be an active member of Neopets. Every week, Neopets puts up a new survey that you can take for about 1,000 quick points. Well, the survey this week was all about TV advertising, and one of the questions was, "What is your favorite children's television program?" Possible choices were Family Guy, and The Simpsons, along with other popular anime shows and look-a-likes like Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh GX, and Hihi Puffy Ami Yumi. These shows were in the same category as stuff like Barney and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends (I actually like Foster's Home; I think it's extremely creative for a children's show). Am I the only one that sees something seriously wrong with this? I'm not objecting to Yugioh and Naruto as being children's shows, because they clearly are, but what about Family Guy? I know people who're graduating from high school this year whose parents won't let them watch this.

Heck I won't watch Family Guy. I just don't want to see a naked fat man, it's bad enough looking in the mirror eh?

As for imagination, I have seen nothing to equal Pee Wee's Playhouse way back when, for children's TV. If only... Sad

You said that the survey was all about advertising, but didn't follow up on that. What were they trying to find out, how to sell the next iteration of the Transformers, a new Pikachu? What were some of those questions?

If they ask, tell them "Tiny Planets." That's the only children's program I like. Otherwise it has to be "family," something to placate the adults in the audience. It's why iwatch anime, so I can get my animation fix, and not be ashamed to say I saw it.

The survey was talking about TV advertising, and which cartoons kids would most likely be tuned into to see their (neopets) ads. I don't remember the whole survey (it was really long), but some of the questions were stuff like "Do your parents forbid you from watching certain television shows?" and "Do your parents set time limits on your TV viewing time?"

Family Guy being for kids? hahaha. It was on [as] the other night and my little cousins where here, normally i don't care what they watch but even I felt I should change the channel. I thought they had left so I began to watch South Park, but they had gone to the store and when they came back I HAD to change it again. No one forced me to change what I was watching, but I just felt it was not appropriate for children their age, around 12. I'm only 19 and have no kids by the way.

If I'm watching South Park or Family Guy, and my sister (13 years old) comes into the room, I purposefully do not change the channel and watch it with her to see what her reactions will be to the content. She often thinks that they are stupid.
