I guess people have a few questions about the ending to elfen lied and many people think a certain way about the ending. I want to talk about my expereances
I believe that it was Lucy at the gate, not nyuu. Lucy finally came out and remembered everything
I dont think she stayed with kohta. I believe that she went into hiding and the rest of her life is a mistery
why. Kohta left an extra bowl for Nyuu as a memoreal, and Lucy would have entered the gate. also Lucy told Nana "I want you to live with kota, do what I cant do."
I believe the shell represented Nyuu and the Music box, the lonly girl from eight years ago. both comming together in the end.
The clock started when Lucy was at the door so it probably ment that it was time to move on and not to dwell on the past
I want to know how the sceen with Kohta and Lucy transitioned into the sceen with Lucy and the army.
The breakoff off Lucy's horns represent that she realised the error of her ways and shreaded the Diclonious form and chose to become human by not killing people

Um, dude, you need to learn how to use tags. Much of what you brought up in that post could be considered spoilers.
Granted, the topic makes it fairly clear that one probably shouldn't be reading this thread unless they've seen the ending, but that's no excuse.
As for what you did post, it's not an unreasonable argument, but I do think you may be reading a little more into it all than what was intended. (Especially the bit about Lucy's horn getting shot off. )

"Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." Don't over analyze this show, such an ultimately meaningless excercise is best saved for stuff like Eva
Read the manga for some answers.

A cigar is a cigar and if you overanalyze in aroenotics you may be in for a smokey suprise, but books and movies are ment to be interpreted differently for different people. It is what inspires us to be creative. I feel that the story should not stray from the plot and/or true intentions and meanings. It wouldn't seem such a big deal, but the ears fell off in slow motion and happened in the same eppisodes. If they mearly wanted to show her getting hurt it would have been much quicker and only one ear would fall. I have to go, anyone want to disscuss the morals and meanings behind "Elfen Lied". I will think about it and get back in the discussion, but I must leave good by..

Usually when a topic's name is about a ending it usually means there will be spoilers...

The manga's story goes farther, and ended. Total chapters is somewhere in the early 100s.
The manga isn't licensed for US release, and there honestly isn't much chance it will be.

Is that because there is only so many violent and traumatic mangas that US distributors can handle, and they're just not ready to take on another blood bath?

probly do to the fact that the manga market is really oversaturated right now.
