I hope this sets up them picking up the original anime.

So they'll license the silly super-deformed spin-off, but not the original series.
........Huh.
That's like licensing Kujibiki Unbalance without first licensing Genshiken. Or picking up SD Gundam without any of the other Gundam series.

One can only hope that Funimation is indeed in the process of licensing the original Idolmaster anime, because it does seem odd to license the spinoff but not the original. Bandai's no longer around to do it itself, after all.

Either a package deal or they're really considering on the Idolm@ster TV series, and they're using the shorts to test waters.

Would depend on what the contracts say they can or can't do with them. Japanese music licensing... *shudders*

Hasn't Crunchyroll already nabbed almost everything this season?

ATTACK ON TITAN. ATTACK ON TITAN. ATTACK ON TITAN.
...Yeah, I know it's not for this season, but a guy can dream, can't he?

My guess it's Haganai season 2 and Hetalia season 5.

Wtf? Two separate companies grab Im@s but neither has grabbed the good one. Maybe NISA will step up to the plate but knowing my luck it'll be an announcement for the games or some other spin-off series.

Crunchyroll picked up the "legit" Idom@ster series, but yeah, I want BDs of it.
Also as far as games, and keep in mind this is only speculation, the license for Imas has been picked up for release overseas.
THE CATCH: It's the rhythm game that was released on PSP and not the original Imas game... Still, nothing is confirmed, yet, but they had to have a reason to lock down the license for this game and not other Imas games.
