No it means "original". This will come as a big shock to you, but words mean things.

Every time I see this guy, I can see his passion in his gestures. He's really crazy and into his work. Gotta love it!

I love .hack far more than I love Naruto, and yet I've enjoyed the experience while playing their Naruto Storm games far more than their recent-ish .hack games and media. Have you tried them yet? They might surprise you, even if you don't like the Naruto manga/anime.

Yeah I tried the storm games, they're good or great depending if you're a naruto fan or not. Me not being a naruto fan, I just thought they were well crafted games so I didn't care much. But since CC2 completely ignored the .hack fans for a whole generation now, I can't help myself but to feel bad that they are milking a shonen franchise rather than giving attention the the old fans who essentially helped CC2 survive in the video game industry by buying their first products (which were the .hack games) when they just started out. Seriously is it that hard to throw a bone for us to chew on? I bet even HD re-releases would satisfy us. They made the cheap versus hybrid with a film--which was meh/okay at best. Why can't they make another decent RPG game set in theWORLD?
Oh I know why; because they can keep re-hashing the same old game by adding a couple of new characters and stages each year. At this point Naruto Storm=Madden

The way that any company works is: If you use guaranteed franchise successes, then you can use the revenue to further budget a new game or another less-popular product.
dothack was popular enough for them long ago, but even before G.U., the popularity waned and it didn't really hit off like they had hoped. They still love their dothack franchise, but at this point, they've lost the will to go on with it because it not only doesn't sell (Japan or abroad)--it isn't their team's forte anymore either. And on that matter, the guy in this video is a huge fan of Naruto, as is the rest of the company. They put passion into the Naruto games and it shows in more ways than one. Considering how much money they put into the Storm games after the success of Storm 1 (after the normal Ultimate Ninja games for PS2 stopped being popular), they're doing far more to produce them than simply adding new characters and stages.
Of course, I have to say the .hack//Versus+ pack really did feel very... incomplete. I mean, it was just a bonus game, but nothing about it was balanced and it was far too slow and had too little content to satisfy most people, including me. And I had been hoping for something along the lines of Storm for .hack. Which was pretty much what it was, just with what seems to be little to no actual thought into the balance, speed, and variety...
I'm a HUGE .hack fan. I'm sad to see it go now. But with the way the franchise had been headed, it was already a surprise they did what they did up until the end. ):

Exactly, me being a .hack fan I just lost all respect for cc2. They can go and whore the storm games for the cash it brings, but they also lost old fans, like me, in the process.
