By "faithful", I hope you don't mean "literal." Every name is a pun, so if the names were not adapted for the English localisation, the amount of liner notes required would fill several travel brochures.
Also, Court-Records overlooked a detail regarding Prosecutor Ichiyanagi.
The arrogant little 17-year-old whelp frequently refers to Mikagami Hakari without an honorific. This is known as yobisute in Japanese, and is considered extremely impolite. It is generally reserved for use between family members, close friends and lovers.

I wasn't sure if this was a joke or not, but... It's Capcom's game. o_O How would they lose the license to their own game? They would have to be the one to license it out.
Anyway, I think the games have had amazing faithful localizations. The thing is, as was pointed out earlier, there's a difference between faithful and literal. The game was meant to be loaded down with jokes and puns that would be immediately understandable to its audience. Being too literal could have probably compromised some of what the original game was seeking to convey. (This is definitely the case with the character names. Leaving his name as Naruhodo, for example, would have been more literal, but less faithful, because it would lose the reason he even had that name in the Japanese version.)

As someone who's played the Japanese version, the American versions of Gyakuten Saiban are about as faithful as Funimation's Shin-chan dub. I would assume the references to and quotes of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air would tip that off. As far as jokes go, you really over-estimate the need for name changes. Every anime has joke-y, punny names, but most companies don't feel the need to change them. Usopp is still Usopp, as opposed to "lying man", despite his name being a pun about his lying nature. Doesn't exactly ruin One Piece if you don't know that or get that pun.
While an uncut release would be cool, I don't recall any video game ever getting a 're-translation' unless it was a remake or something. Example benig Persona for the original PSX was a horribly edited mess but the PSP version got a more faithful translation. So unless maybe 10-20 years down the line these games get remade, I wouldn't count on a more faithful translation of them.

I've got the Japanese versions, myself, but I admit I've only played them a little compared to the English versions - so I (sincerely) ask you this: were there any notable changes to the actual story or characters' development? Because the changes I'm aware of were mostly just to the jokes and names used, which I, personally, find appropriate. I disagree with the comparison to Usopp, because with Gyakuten Saiban those kinds of jokes are not an isolated incident, but a major part of the overall feel to the series. This is one case where I think preserving the original names, at least, would actually create a product less in-sync with the original Japanese version than a localization that tries to recreate the actual experience that Japanese players had. It's fair to take issue with the jokes used and pop culture references made, but I still think that it was the right choice to try to replicate the feel and intent of the original over literary accuracy.

Not to mention translated by Alexander O. Smith, so I doubt it gets a re-translated anytime soon or more than likely just have the same approach to translating.
