Great series wasn't it?
I know they are currently working on the manga and I have heard they will probably continue the series once they advance enough episodes in the series.

Yeah, I don't think there's been any official word about the next anime arc, but that's been their pattern in the past, to release an OVA every year or two once the manga gets far enough ahead.

I really wish this would get an official U.S. release.

I wish it was licensed too. IMO, it would give Naruto a run for its money and also of right now H x H is my favorite shounen anime thus far.

I happen to be very fond of HxH myself and think it is long overdue for a North American release. Heck, they (Geneon, Funimation, ADV, etc) could just give the first season a run and I think it would outsell Naruto and One Piece.

I love the Hunter x Hunter anime; it's one of the few shonen series where I actually watched the anime first instead of the manga, being something of a manga elitist. But the pacing, artistry (the animation is old, but extremely good around the later parts of the TV seires) and the directing overall gave it a very engrossing atmosphere that I doubt even the manga had (though I'm going to read it anyway, since it goes beyond the anime.)
I'd really love to see this released stateside: let's hope that at least Viz considers it when they start expanding their Shonen Jump video line. Unfortunately, I'm not sure about it outselling Naruto or One Piece... Judging from the manga sales, I don't think it's really caught on over here.

I have just seen the entire Anime and all three OVA´s In just a couple of days because i liked it so much.
Is there anyone who knows anything about a new OVA.
Cause for those who saw the last series probably agree with me that there is still alot to be resolved.
Like kuroro and Hisokas fight
We never even got to see Gon speak to his dad
And how did it go for the spiders on Greed Island
and alot more

I've heard of Hunter X Hunter before, but I really have no access to the episodes. the way you guys talk about it, specially about it being better tahn Naruto, makes me feel like checking it out. I think I've seen the manga in stores, but I'll probably wait for the anime release since i haven't really heard many good things about the manga.

Here's the thing, I love HXH, but it won't be all that competative with Naruto. For one thing, while the story's great, the video is a little dated at this point, so that hurts the series a bit. For another, it starts off a little slow for most people's tastes, and while it eventually gets REALLY cool, the first arc has, in my experience, driven people off a bit to the point that I've had to force them to keep watching through the Hunter's Exam, until they really started to enjoy it.
This period is essential to the story, so I wouldn't suggest they skip it, but at the same time it would likely result in a lot of newbies that watch episode 1 leaving the show within the first few episodes, and then potentially word of mouth bringing them back later, if we're lucky.
People just aren't used to a show in which every dozen episodes or so the entire flavor and style of the show jumps the shark completely. There's definitely something there for everyone, the problem is making sure they tune in when their something is on.

I don't like to judge anime by it's "animation", I don't mind if it is dated because a great story is awesome no matter how dated the animation is... I can't sasy the same for good animation and crappy story.

Oh, YOU should definitely watch it, I highly recomend it to anyone in anime, I'm only pointing out why. . . politically or whatever, the show is unlikely to catch on as much as it really deserves.

Naruto better than Hxh? I don't know about that. Hxh was the the "big" shonen series before Naruto came out. Ever since Naruto's release, hxh's popularity started to die out. That's why you hear so much good things about this series because it isn't mention as offend as it's used to where as Naruto is at the height of it's popularity and is everyone knows about it already.
The story itself is pretty cliche (boy set out on adventure to find his father while banding together with a group of misfit friends), but it's not a bad series if you're into shounen. I wouldn't be surprise if Viz release it later on, but they seem to have their hands full with all the recent shounen jump title.

I don't think anybody said HxH was better than Naruto. Someone just said that if shown on American Tv it would give Naruto a run for its money and I think it would probably be true right now, especially with the Naruto filler.
In my opinion, HxH is an amazing series, one of my favorite and it is right underneath Naruto. It is almost as good as Naruto. My brother actually prefers HxH to Naruto.
If you haven't seen it, go get it soon you wont regret it. You will find some things are very similar to Naruto (when I started watching Naruto I thought Naruto was a copy of HxH) but they end up being quite different. Gon is the all the opposite of Naruto.
