Silver Spoon is released by Shogakukan (it appears in Shonen Sunday) which owns Viz along with Shueisha.

I've been meaning to mention this for awhile and thought now is as good a time as any to ask. But has there been any thought of putting a little "mentioned in this podcast" Section below the breakdown that would have links to the anime or manga mentioned in the podcast that week?
Quiet often I will get interested in something either Zac, Justin or the guests are talking about but either won't know how to spell it or may not be able to hear the name clearly and won't know how to look it up.
Would be cool if there could be a little section at the bottom that would mention the things that were talked about and link to the encyclopedia. Just an idea. I don't know if that would be more time consuming then it's worth or not.
But another great show again this week regardless.

Would you prefer that to the show notes as they currently exist?
The podcast is already very time-consuming and I can't volunteer to add more work to it, but if you'd rather have a simple "mentioned in this podcast" list of titles rather than timecodes I could consider that.

If it would help, I can try to compile a list of titles mentioned w/ URLs and send 'em to you, or post them on this thread. i can probably work on that tomorrow...
Maybe in the future when we do another show like this, i can try to keep a notepad handy and just make a running list of the titles we talk about, and send it to Zac after our recording session is done. would that help?

For me personally I would prefer a little mentioned on this podcast list of titles over the timecodes simply because I listen to all the episodes in their entirety anyway.
That said I can't say that is what everyone would prefer. I'm sure everyone has their own opinion on what they would like to see. Perhaps a question about this could be added to the next ANN survey and see how everyone feels.

That would be pretty cool. It's just a shame to hear about so many great titles and then not be able to track some of them down after hearing about em.

Huh. Didn't know Nightow had a new manga out. I should check that out.
Hope the action's a little easier to follow. Trigun gave me eye aches sometimes.

Devilman.... Why has nobody gotten Devilman? Beserk won't end for another decade or so at this rate so it's never too late. Miura barely puts out any chapters each year so it's gonna be a while. Besides that, the world would be a better place if everybody just picked up and read all three volumes of Wandering Son. I seriously believe that this is the best ongoing manga currently being released in English right now. Fantagraphics has done a wonderful job on this one. For next year, Vinland Saga is a must.

GO UMINEKO! I have not seen a series that changes so much with the addition of new story elements or plot twist. for example magic in episode 2, Someone finding the gold in episode 3 ange in episode 4, the new GM in episode 5, the new territory lord in episode 6,... that is how far I have gotten so far, so I can't talk about the final 2 volumes.Umineko evolved from fair/good (B-) to one of my favorite novels ever.
I would love it if I could more easily pull up a list of shows and major topics that come up. I am sure someone who listens to this podcast, would be more then willing to do that for you. I also agree with the bellow comment, to a extent. there are times where I will skip a section or only listen to one section. that said I would prefer the series names when there are a lot of series names like this.

Same here. I listen to the whole thing and would rather see a list of titles. It's frustrating to go back and try to find a brief mention of a title in over an hour's worth of audio.

In response to zacs question about OEL, I think it would be because that is were you audience is. that said if you can't create something that can be viewed favorably without that audience then you have a problem. same type of thing for the art style, it should be able to survive just fine if you used something else in there instead of a "manga" art style.

I've had this problem as well, the funniest instance of it being that for the longest time I thought Chi's Sweet Home was 'Cheese Sweet Home', because I'd never seen it written down. It sounded like another cryptic English infused anime title to me.

Random thoughts upon listening to the rest of the podcast:
--OMG, Deb, Rebecca, you guys like K-dramas?! Do you write about them anywhere? As it's probably my primary fandom at the moment, I'd love to hear your thoughts, recommendations and/or opinions.
--I wish there were more ANNCasts on the topic of manga. I definitely read a ton more manga than watch anime nowadays, and I've already added a few titles to my RightStuf order as a result of this podcast.
--Also, it was nice to hear love about the BL titles His Favorite and Only Serious About You! I agree that both are quite good, especially Only Serious...

Maybe you could monetize such a list by providing the titles as affiliate links to Amazon, iTunes, etc., so ANN would get a cut of the traffic it directs there. That would help the podcast pay for itself, something I recall Chris M. asking about on Twitter a while back.
Then again, you've probably likely considered this already, and there may be concerns that aren't immediately obvious to listeners (conflicts of interest with your regular paid advertisers for example… why should RightStuf buy a banner if your links send readers to Amazon, etc.). Also, it does take a little time to go through the web form to create affil links, so at first it makes an already long process even longer.

Hmm, maybe I should start that blog I've been mulling over after all...Anyway, yes, K-dramas! I prefer the comedies, romantic or otherwise, although I have great love for Star in My Heart in all of its melodramatic glory. I think I'd have to say that my current favorite is My Lovely Samsoon, but it's a tough call. I even got my mother hooked on Super Rookie - she came over while I was watching and ending up staying for three episodes.
Did you see the film RightStuf released this summer? It wasn't as engrossing as a full-out series, but it was still a lot of fun.

Only Serious etc is probably my favorite BL series to date. I've really enjoyed others (and will be checking out His Favorite, thanks, Deb!), but the sweetness and charm of Only Serious just makes it a standout for me.
