Hallo! I was wondering.. becuase ADV dropped the licence to Mermaid Melody pichi pichi pitch, well there isnt an english anime (or corse) But the new manga of this series is being translated into english- comeing out April 2006- So i got to thinking, there are decent amount of fans of thid anime in america. Does that mean if the manga does well someone else might pick up the licence?

Anything's a possibility, but don't count on it.

Volume 1. All other volumes are also listed there. Be warned that Japanese DVDs are expensive as hell.

Vol. 1 costs signifcantly less from play-asia. The other volumes cost more for some reason but still cost less then yesasia.

Edit: Hmm, actually the rest of the volumes cost less from yesasia for some reason. It's just the first volume that's so expensive. Wierd, they're kind of mixed, you may have to buy some from each to get the best deal.

Another Edit: I'm not sure but if "Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch" is the same thing as "Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure" then it would cost the least amount of money to buy the box sets from yesasia. I think they're the same seeing as there's no sequel listed here on ANN and that the official website for it includes "Pure" in the name.

Damn. $41.99 for volume 1? I didn't know they cost this much. I guess you do learn something new everyday... so now i can stop learning for today.

Pure is the sequel. For one reason or another, it's listed within the Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch listing on ANN.

I'm kind of surprised at the DVDs. Usually, more popular kids/mainstream shows like Mermaid Melody get more than just two episodes a disc. Pichi Pichi Pitch is my magical girl show of choice, but I can't see myself buying 26 DVDs at those prices, especially given the random episodes that are animated on toilet paper.

I'm still a little distraught at ADV for dropping it, but then it got me thinking: ADV must have wanted to push it towards networks, so bilingual/uncut DVDs for it may not even have existed... I guess we'll never know.
