I tried looking for a similar thread through the search option but I received too many results which is not anyway related to this topic. So I decided to make a topic.

The best teachers in anime:

Eikichi Onizuka- a perverted motorcycle gang biker who at first only became a teacher to lust after young high school girls but shortly, he found it very morally wrong to misuse his career to seduce underage schoolgirls, and he realized he has a lot in common with students, who were misunderstood by adults, so he vows to become a teacher that every kid would look up to. He sucks at all subjects, but still he proves to be a capable and inspirational teacher. He taught inspirationally invaluable moral lessons about life, family, love, loyalty, hope and etc which earned him the fierce respect and undying loyalty of the worst anti-teacher classroom students in history. He's the kind of teacher you'd want as your friend.

Hibiki Amawa- a cross-dressing transvestite who had to dress as a female to get a job at a high school. He encouraged the students to think beyond themselves and beyond the traditional rules of the school and about the love between each other and between themselves and their parents. He also taught them to try and their best and to grow up. He was so effective at teaching, he won the support of students, parents and teachers in the end. Also, he was willing to sacrifice his dignity in order to pursue teaching. He loved teaching so much.

Yoshiyuki Terada- an intelligent and gentlemanly teacher who seemed to be fond of Rika. Yet he hardly acted on his feelings. All he did was simply flatter Rika, nothing more. Rika has became a diligent, mature, studious model student and, in fact, a straight-A+ student, as well because of Terada-sensei's charming guidance. That makes him a decent teacher. He does well to teach subjects and guide particularly Rika in class.

Yukari from Azumanga Daioh. She's so crazy it's hilarious. Her hyper competitiveness and horrible driving are always good for a laugh.

I love Kakashi from Naruto. He's a powerful fighter, yet a totally laid back guy, which is a huge contrast. However, he is an amazingly talented ninja, behind that goofy exterior. And I love KakaIru...

I also love Izumi from FMA. She kicks little boys' butts and calls it trainging-my kinda gal! But behind that tough exterior, you can tell she really cares for the Elric brothers, in an almost motherly way; she is a woman who lost her child, and they are children who lost their mother, so it seems natural that she would be like that. She is a tough discipliner, yet she cares for her students(Ed and Al).

Onizuka is defintely one of my favorites. He's hilarious and i'm sure class would have been a lot of fun. The only problem is that I don't think I would learn much, with all the fooling around and everything. Then again, how many good or fun teachers are there in anime in which the class actually sits down and learns...probably not many because that would be really boring to watch.

Anyway, Onizuka is the first to come to mind and I would have loved to have someone like him as a teacher.

Haruna Sakurada from Sailor Moon. Even though she yelled and stomped and was concerned with her single status, she was truly concerned about Usagi and wanted her to do her best. Haruna-sensei must have succeeded somehow since Usagi made it to high school!

I can't remember her name, but the Teacher of Kaname and Sousuke's homeroom in Fullmetal Panic. She managed not to turn a hair when taking away Sousuke's weapon in the episode where he first goes to school. But then when spoiler[the school plane is taken hostage] she fainted wondering how she's going to explain she wasn't able to keep the students safe.

Expect in the manga when Terada-sensei gives Rika spoiler[an engagement ring.] Anyway, I think the best teacher in anime is Mizuki-sensei also from Cardcaptor Sakura. When she was just a substitute teacher for Sakura's math class, she was always encouraging her students to do their best. After she became Sakura's homeroom teacher, she actually let her students go outside to play on their first day of the new trimester. When Sakura had a fever but was still willing to go to school, Mizuki-sensei was more concerned about Sakura's health than her perfect attendance and actually sent her back home so she could recover from her cold. Mizuki-sensei also favors equality among her students by casting both girls and boys in opposite gender roles in their performance of Sleeping Beauty. Laughing And even after she moves away to study abroad in England, she still keeps in touch with her students through writing letters. Now that's the kind of friendly teacher I wish I had when I was in elementary school.

Kumiko "Yankumi" Yamaguchi from Gokusen. Unlike Onizuka, who was a bike gang leader, Yankumi is a yakuza heiress. She uses a different method of psychology to gain respect from her delinquent class. Instead of yelling at her class, she plays along with their mind (or mindless, in most cases) games. She also uses her yakuza techniques to get her students out of trouble, whether it's rival students or crooked businessmen.

Of course, the live-action version is better than the anime.

I already know that. I have a picture of this.

You are missing the point of Yoshiyuki proposing it to Rika. He told her that he would wait for her until she reaches full maturity. That means he could take advantage of her any time now and could take advantage of her while she's still a kid but instead of that, he's willing to wait a certain time for her to grow older so they would go out together. That is not an exception but rather one of the reasons why Terada is a great teacher to Rika.

12 eps + 1 OVA = 13 eps. You've seen the whole series. Please Twins is next in the series.

Who do I think is the best teacher in anime? Definately Eikichi Onizuka from Great Teacher Onizuka. Zauriel has already listed the reason why I think he's a great teacher.

who else but Eikichi Onizuka of GTO! he the teacher who would do anything for his students to learn things outside and inside the school.sure at the 1st episode, his students didn't respect him, but one by one his students got along with him, specially that kunio Murai and Urumi Kanzaki(who I think is one of the hardest student that Onizuka taught, she even 10 times smarter than the teachers)these are the students who help him most of the time.

Huh. . . Nobody beats Mizuho Sensei from Onegai Teacher. She puts out, that's the best you can hope for in an educator.

....that's one way to put it yes hahaha

..Anyway, I like watching any teacher who doesn't really teach. As long as they do something other than teaching in the class it's usually entertaining. Plus, as has been mentioned before in this thread, if the teacher actually did teach it would be quite boring; the high point of the show would be when one of the students dropped his pencil and had to pick it up......which would consist of this:

Teacher: "Albert Einstein's famous Thoery of Relativity....Jonothan did you just drop your pencil?"
Jonothan: "....maybe...."
Teacher: "Now Jonothan, pick it up please."
Jonothan: "Do I have to?"
Teacher: "yes."
Jonothan: "...ok.."
Teacher: "Thank you Jonothan...where was I umm yes,
E=MC2"

Wow, let's nominate that one for an Oscar shall we?

Anyway back to the point, some teachers that I believe fit the mold of the ideal Anime/Manga teacher are Onizuka of course, due to his immoral ideals, and his connections with the students...but mainly his immoral ideals. The only other one I can think of at the moment is..well saito-san from BECK, although he isn't a Teacher, he does help Koyuki with his swimming, and guitar and is very entertaining while doing it. His totally different personas while teaching guitar, and then while instructing swimming, make him very fun to watch, or read.

I don't know if we were supposed to pick from yours, or add our own. Also by "teacher", I suppose you mean in a school setting, but I don;t watch those kind of shows. So saying that, here is my favorite "teacher", or master.

Seijuro Hiko from Rurouni Kenshin and the Samurai X movies. He is a very calm, and powerful teacher. He understands the true nature of mankind, and still has a forgiving heart... spoiler[when Kenshin returned to him to learn the final attacks of Hiten Mitsurugi after Seijuro said he didn't want to see him anymore.]

Oh wait I have seen an anime with a teacher. Chobits. The teacher was smart, and i wouldn't mind if a teacher that fine spoiler[had an affair] with me. Wink

Izumi from FMA. She's really cool, plus a great teacher (look how good Ed is now!)
