This is for the scenes AFTER a charater dies and the reactions of others to that person's death.

My choices are:

Fushigi Yugi spoiler[When Nuriko dies, Miaka goes a little crazy, runs off and is found by Tamahome, twiddling her fingers and humming to herself. Tamahome forces her to see Nuriko's body and Mitsukake tells her that he's restored Nuriko's beauty.] This part was harder to watch than the actual death.

X the Movie spoiler[Kamui cradling Fuma's head in his arms.]

Sailor Moon spoiler[When Sailor Moon doesn't kiss Tuxedo Mask because her friends weren't able to kiss the ones they loved.]

Ceres spoiler[When Chidori dies on Yuhi's back and he's still trying to get her to talk to him and his scream when he realizes that she really is gone.]

What are your choices? I'm interested to see them!

Funny, I just answered one of these on another forum.

Anyways, I'd say Figure 17, spoiler[at the end when Hikaru dies and seperates from Tsubasa and Tsubasa is standing in the field, looking around at first until it sinks in that Hikaru isn't going to be there this time. That part was really quite heartbreaking as Tsubasa has been through so much both before the show began and during but Hikaru's presence brought some happiness to her life and then that's taken away].

I'd have to agree with that, but also spoiler[when Roy said it was raining, even though the sky was clear, and you saw him cry.] That always pulls at me. Plus, I'm a huge spoiler[Hughes] fangirl.

Well, you're not alone. Anyone with any kind of a sould whatsoever loves hughes!

however I found a LOT of Fullmetal sad...

spoiler[when Lust is finally within reach of a shot at being able to become human, but wrath kills her]

or

spoiler[When Ed is trying to eliminate Sloth, and Al keeps trying to stop him. The, Sloth goes on about her memories of them, and Ed has to kill her anyway...]

there were too many to list, those being the most recent hat pop into mind.

also in elfen lied....

spoiler[after Kurama and Mariko exploded on the bridge in Elfen Lied, and Nana was just sitting there crying....(which in turn got me crying)...]

spoiler[also, when Lucy Kisses Kouta, and then leaves down to the army, where she is "killed". That wasn't so bad however, because in the end, she goes back i believe, with the clock restarting and everything. however for the few minuite i thought she was dead it was insanley sad.]

edit** thanks for pointing that out to me pantsgoblin. I'll remember it next time!

Maybe you should add that these two are from Elfen Lied. People may be hesitant to read it if they don't know what it's from (I took the chance, good thing I've seen Elfen Lied though).

I thought of that series as well. That part only really affected me until spoiler[we see Tsubasa turning around in the airport after talking to DD and Oldine, and they're gone.]

Even worse than that part was spoiler[episode 10, the aftermath of Sho's death. It was seriously depressing Sad ]

Scrapped Princess, when the main character(forgot her name OMG!)spoiler[started to bawl her eyes out after seeing the little wooden bath sign thingy.] (Although I didn't particularly felt bad for the death of the person in question he was in and out in like 2-3 eps.

Wolf's Rain- spoiler[After Cher died Hubb struggled with all his might to right the car, straining to do an impossible task. Kiba, Tsume, and Hige helped him to finally right it. It was so sad because it's like he NEEDED to right the car, even though I believe it couldn't work anymore (aka futile task).]

I know some people thought I was going to say a different death in the show. Forget it. Twisted Evil

Well I agree that spoiler[Hughes's funeral ] was really a tear jerker but the second one was at the beginning of the series where spoiler[ Ed is crying in the rain and pounding on the blood smear of Nina on the wall.] That was a really sad scene.

i know...that Funeral scene kills me so does whay Roy says it just eats at your mind...i still cry when i see that episode. (ps. i'm a guy) I also think in the later episodes of FMA the death scene of spoiler[Winry's parents after Roy shoots them then trys to kill himself] it just kills you to watch their deaths. Also in Naruto's early episodes the death of spoiler[Haku...the speach Naruto makes was so powerful it sways the logic of the beast that is Zabuza..it's a touching "eulogy" on Naruto's behalf]

People, people, heed PantsGoblins's admonitions--if you're going to write spoilers, make some note outside the spoilers of what series/movie/manga you're talking about, otherwise the only thing people see is "Big black box of text that might contain spoilers for the series I'm watching right now--I'd better not read it"; good thing I've seen most of the series that people commonly mention on posts like this Shocked

That said, here are a few more:

Negima: The beginning of episode 24 spoiler[with Asuna's funeral instead of the OP was pretty powerful. After that, the scenes with Negi and the students trying to conduct business as normal in the wake of her death just really hits too close to home for anybody who's lost classmates in school.] Also episode 19, although it's not really a "death scene reaction" spoiler[it's incredibly sad when Sayo reads what her sister wrote at the garden, which was originally "so that Mother will come back," but changed to "so that Mother *and big sister* will come back" (the camelia garden was planted by Sayo's sister in the superstition that when the courtyard was all in bloom, one's beloved person could return.] (If you think Negima! is just a bunch of loli fanservice, episode 19 is a real redemption factor, kind of like episode 20 of Love Hina.)

Scrapped Princess: What Greennunu said.

Wolf's Rain: The scene that Frankman mentioned was one of my most memorable deaths/reactions from that series as well.

Mai Hime: spoiler[Pretty much any of the "most beloved person" deaths in the last part of the series, especially Takumi and Tate--great anguished reactions from Mai and Shiho.]

Full Moon wo Sagashite: This one really takes the cake...spoiler[it is so, so sad to see Mitsuki react happily to seeing Eichi's picture, when we know that it's one of those "departed one" pictures that Japanese people keep in their homes...then when she learns the truth that he's dead, she wanders into the snow and says some of the saddest lines of the series upon finding his grave, such as, "So this is where you were" and "Please, Eichi-kun, come for me, come take me away!"] <--warning, this is a major FMwS spoiler, so make sure to avoid it if you haven't seen the series.

Wolf's Rain also had spoiler[Tsume's speech to Toboe's body, which has always been the spot that even now, after seeing it a million times, makes me cry (and made my roommate, who never cries at movies and things, cry).]

RahXephon episode 19 - We were really getting to know the relationship between Ayato and Hiroko when all of a sudden, spoiler[it was revealed that Hiroko was a Mu. The end of the battle between RahXephon and the Dolem Vibrato was a major tear-jerker in the series.]
