I remember playing the first Ape Escape game at a friend's house in Galveston. Had tons of fun . . . can't wait to see how this turns out.

Guys, this is actually the THIRD Ape Escape animation.

On Sony's site, there were two other animes done in CGI format, using the same style as the previous games.

The first one was a series with a class of disobidiant monkies, who constantly harrassed people from the games (especially Ape Escape 2) and everyone. This lasted 78 or so episodes. Each episode was roughly 3 - 5 or so minutes long.

Second one was a movie that was about 30 minutes long, featuring the "Big Bad 5" or "Monkey Gods" from Ape Escape 2, doing some acts against the humans, and having adventures. Along with other Misc. Not sure.

These are located on Sony's Site. I'll get a link in a bit.

EDIT: Here

I wish they would have done this 5 (maybe six) years ago when I finished beating the game... I guess I'll go with the qoute "Better late then never."

Any anime that surrounds a bunch of monkeys is genius to me! The more, the merrier. I just hope that ShoPro (or Viz) gets their hands on it; not 4Kids.

Did Sony License "Wild Arms: Twilight Venom"? Nope. Don't automatically assume. There's a high chance, but there's also a chance another company will get the rights to it.

Like ChibiGoku mentioned, there is already a 3rd Ape Escape. It's called Ape Escape 3 (wow, how origional Razz) and my brother just bought it. Horrible story line (the first game had the best, but even that was a bit...) but one heck of a fun game to play. In North America four Ape Escape games have been released: Ape Escape, Ape Escape 2, Ape Escape 3, and and Ape Escape battle game. I know for a fact that another Ape Escape was reliesed in Japan several years ago, that was never brought over here. My brother was dissappointed by this since apparantly you got a vacuum to suck the monkey's shorts off or something like that. slightly disturbing concept Razz

I read your post... Even if this is the third ape escape animation, this will probally be the first that is full length (20 minutes) and widely released. Not only available on the internet...

Yeah, I remember hearing about the "sequel" to ape escape that had you vacuum up the monkeys' pants. It included the original characters from the first game, but it was never brought over. Link to information and pictures of the game are right here http://ps2.ign.com/objects/016/016678.html . (Edit: it was released in Japan in 2001 as a spin off... Guess it wasn't popular enough to get brought over).

Speaking of anime based on Sony games, why wasn't Parappa ever licensed for domestic release? Did the last two sequels tank that badly that no one wanted to be associated with it anymore?
