I just heard from my best friend that the highest bid on Bleach is owned by 4Kids. Even though he heard it from the convention-goers, it's still possible that this could happen.

Oh MAN! I was actually hoping it would be some by someone better because that is one show I would actually like to see it in English. I'm very curious to hear the american voice actors, and if this IS going to be done by 4Kids I'm going to be really upset to find out how many things they've edited out...sigh...
Oh well, let's just hope it doesn't happen, right? |

THANK YOU, somebody seriously pays attention to my threads for once.
Anyway, my friend told me to take it with a humongous grain of salt since he heard it from the con-goers in Florida. I still go to bed every night fearing that 4Kids will get Bleach. |

Just read the encyclopedia on Bleach. Sounds like this is another one that I'm going to have to get. Darn it, I'm beginning to hate this forum. My credit card went Code Black some time ago due to anime...AND YOU PEOPLE ARE NOT HELPING ME ANY!

I have to agree. In my eyes, I doubt 4kids would even touch Bleach. I mean, it has death gods, a ton of blood, hell's gates, and even more stuff in it that contradicts their standards. Sure, they can touch One Piece and other anime, but they weren't nearly as graphic as Bleach (not saying that it's like other anime, but it's just not 4kids standards.) If you're friend's spewing this crap, I want it to be hardcore proven evidence before you post it on the forums.

I just have this gut feeling in the pit of my stomach that 4Kids will somehow pick up Bleach. It's my #1 fear right now, and I seriously will commit ritual suicide if 4Kids does get Bleach.
Then, once it's released on TV, I'll roll around in my grave. It is highly unlikely, though. I'm just relaying what my friend told me tonight, but yeah, take this info with a HUMONGOUS grain of salt. |

Look at the stuff that 4Kids has licensed and then give me one good reason why 4Kids would go anywhere near Bleach. Then I might think your fear is reasonable.

Not gonna happen I don't think. Bleach just doesn't seem like a 4Kids title. You said your friend heard this from convention goers? I'd like to know where they heard it from. Unless it's from some official source in the company, this is just a big salty rumor.

And I just have this gut feeling in my heart, my brain, and my pants that VIZ'S PARENT COMPANY OWNS BLEACH. Please explain to your friend how corporate bizness works. Viz = merged with ShoPro Entertainment; ShoPro = company that owns Bleach; therefore Viz technically has Bleach already unless they feel like giving it away. |

Ok 1: If 4kids got bleach, who cares? Seriously. It's not like it WON'T be fansubbed anymore. Just keep getting it from them.
2: As has been said before, WHY would someone get a show, that is known for excessive edits and cuts(for censorship AND to cut out "culture"), that is steeped in blood, an old japanese setting and a few other suggestive themes here and there? Sure, they could. They could get it and butcher it to hell. But geez, I really think it would be a total waste for them to even try. What material would they even have left...? |

Maybe someone would take your thread seriously if you made more sense. 4Kids is not going to pick up Bleach. For one thing, Viz is in charge of Shonen Jump stuff now. It's almost certain they'll get it automatically. For another, One Piece is apparently not doing nearly as well as 4Kids would like in it's molested form, and that's the only form they know. Three, 4Kids doesn't CARE. They don't like anime, they like money. They only take shows that can be exploited for mass money from stupid kids and their stupid parents, and Bleach doesn't fit the bill, why would they want it?
Until there's official word, or unofficial word from a CREDIBLE source, don't worry about who's going to liscense it. |
