If you've made or are in the process of making a manga, what genre does
it fall into? Do you feel it is good enough to be published? Do you have tips for any inspiring manga-kas? If so please post! Even if you've drawn comics and weren't terribly serious about it please feel free to share whatever you know... |

I've attempted it five years ago but it wasn't good enough. But now I am really good and I am thinking of doing a manga again. The story will be set in Ancient China and will also feature Japan, and it's a Martial Arts/Drama.
Anyone who is serious about making manga should buy some drawing guides to show you how to draw a character, background, how to set out panels and how to do a comic script. Anyone who is serious so put in the time and effort to improve. I have certainly come a long way. |

I've published some fan-doujinshi with friends, but unlike most, we did it as an actual book Take a look at our stuff at www.goldfishfactory.com for some samples. Future original works are most likely to be fantasy/comedy/romance type works, since that is what we enjoy most working on.

I'm making one right now. It's a fantasy genre type I guess; it deals with the Shinto religion in Japan. My tips are:
Get the right material first Buy some manga for reference Buy Screen Tones! I've tried to make manga mannnny times. They're all uncomplete because I lost interest or I realize this story-line doesn't make sense. This is probably...the 8th time I try to make a manga ^^: |
