IMI Jericho 941

Wikipedia wrote:
The Jericho 941 is a double action, high capacity pistol developed by IMI and introduced in 1990. Its design is based on the CZ-75 pistol produced by Česká zbrojovka (CZ) of the Czech Republic. The introduction of the Jericho 941 also introduced a new caliber to the market, the .41 Action Express (or .41 AE), which was developed in 1986. The .41 AE was a unique rebated rim cartridge designed to use .410 inch (10.25 mm) bullets and duplicate a reduced power police loading of the .41 Magnum. The Jericho originally shipped with two barrels, one for 9mm Luger and the other for .41 AE. The magazine was designed to feed either round, and since the .41 AE was designed with a rebated rim the same dimensions as that of the 9mm, the extractor and ejector worked equally well for either cartridge. Soon after its commercial introduction, the .40 S&W was introduced to the market. Ballistically, the .40 S&W was nearly identical to moderate .41 AE loads (the reloading manuals that list the .41 AE generally say to use .40 S&W data), although commercial loadings of .41 AE were somewhat more powerful than the .40 S&W. With the stronger backing of major American firearms and ammunition manufacturers, the .40 S&W quickly pushed the .41 AE out of the market. The Jericho 941 was only on the market for 1 year before the dual 9mm/.41 AE chambering was dropped, and the pistol was sold as either 9mm or .40 S&W. A later compact version, the Jericho 945, was chambered in .45 ACP or 9mm. IMI eventually dropped the "Jericho" name in the American marketplace, and renamed the line of pistols "Baby Eagle", to capitalize on the cosmetic resemblence to IMI's more popular Desert Eagle pistol line.

Since Bebop takes place in 2071 Spike must be into antiques. Razz I believe Rally from Gunsmith Cats uses a CZ-75.

I think I read somewhere that the girls from Noir use the same gun as someone from Cowboy Bebop (possibly Jet), can anyone confirm this?

Kirika uses a Beretta M1934.

Mireille does indeed use a Walther P99 like Jet.

In the first episode of the series, someone tels Spike that his Swordfish one-man craft is an antique. It doesn't surprise me if Spike prefers antiques in general.

Apparently according to mechanical designer Kimitoshi Yamane's notes the Swordfish II was based on the Fairey Swordfish torpedo-bomber of World War II. Unlike the Jerhicho 941 it's harder to see the resemblance since it's a spaceship Smile

As in Bebop? I never really noticed, Ill have to re-watch it sometime.

EDIT: after seeing Patch's screenshot, it looks like a regular American cop issue Beretta

I have to say though, with it being set who-nose-how many centuries in the future, chances are it wood be a make from HIS time lol

However, most guns (the p99 and glocks) are all from around this time, so maybe firearms technology didn't advance much.
But yeah its a Jericho, or "baby eagle" from IMI. It has a laser built in around the mag catch ircc.

Can also be seen in John Carpenters Vampires, used by james woods.

It's 2071. Just like in '2001: A Space Odyssey' as well as many movies and TV shows developed in the (relatively) near past, technology is assumed to advance much more quickly in the worlds these stories take place in then it has to this point in the real world.
