I'll only miss X-Play because it gave some inside gameplay videos of games that are not released yet, and also some of their reviews even if sometimes are bad can be helpful. They were the TV show I would turn to to get my gaming news sometimes.
Actually didn't they scrap Adam Sessler for some other guy during the later years of the show. I'm not sure because after 2009 I stopped watching the show, but I saw a peek at it sometime ago and I saw a different host then Adam.
Oh well I'll kinda sorta miss it, only because I watched it back then when it was awesome but stopped watching it during the later years. I just started going on the internet for mews and reviews so their show became pointless for me. Though it was interesting.

@Straw: Same, when the G4 channel turned into a digital package ONLY channel, the only things I missed were, sasuke (or ninja warrior) and X play. X play because adam and morgan were always great reviews and had great comedy bits (before G4 took em over), and sasuke cause well.... its sasuke xD

I just hope they don't put that empty headed such and such Candace Bailey on any other shows. She made Attack of the Show completely unwatchable and I never want to see her on TV again.

X-Play had a good run, it sucks to see it go. It wasn't very good in the last few years, especially since Sessler left, though.

And so TechTV is completely dead with X-Play and Screensavers now cancelled. I guess they needed more programming space to show syndicated C.O.P.S.

I haven't watched much G4 recently - I'll dip in for X-Play every once in awhile - but this is still disappointing. I loved TechTV and though I haven't liked the direction G4 has gone in recent years, it is disappointing to see it go. With so much online content, I imagine it would be hard to maintain such a niche channel, but I think they did a lot of interesting stuff - I really do miss Leo Leporte's Call for Help and Cinematech.

G4TV has never been a particularly good network...
TechTV was MUCH better than this successor, poseur POS channel has ever been...
... And not just because TechTV actually showed harder-edged anime on it, either, that was often much better than Cartoon Network's offerings (which are going into their millionth season of reruns!).
It's amazing that G4 is cancelling its best-known shows -- X-Play was the last non-redheaded stepchild... Okay, AOS not so much, but X-Play???? Wow....
***************
I don't mind pretty girls but I despise brainless politicking (Sarah Lane, looking at you) and bad comedy skits (at least 2/3 of the "comedy" on AOS), too, but that's been part-and-parcel of BOTH Attack of the Show since its premiere and the last few years of its predecessor series, The Screensavers, whether fans of the latter series want to admit it or not.
Not all the girls are bad, though.
The ones with spunk and talent will pop up elsewhere and be okay.
Hey, even Chi Lan bounced back from a not-so-memorable run on The Screensavers, popped up again on Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files on SyFy, and now has a travel show on HGTV.
****************
Oh, and don't worry about the remaining G4 hosts... They're almost all certainly going to get canned by the end of the year. As the departures of Sessler and Pereira proved, NOBODY was irreplaceable at the network. Then again, that's pretty much true everywhere.
****************
Goes without saying that rebranding means, "Draining the last bit of quality left in the current sewer system that's already back up with feces...."
Former fans of SciFi Channel (now SyFy!), TNN (now Spike TV), and TLC (now Toddlers Lacking adequate Childcare) can relate!

Olivia Munn was the worse offender. How the hell did she turn into one of the most vapid women that still manages to get roles in TV and film? Annoying little c.........

I'm just thankful that Munn did not last long on The Daily Show.

Yes, sadly. Though, once the station died and SS went with it, I wasn't a fan.
Re-runs of old syndicated shows-ho...!
Till G4 finally kicks the bucket later on in this/next year.

Goodbye, X-Play. I won't miss you. -_-; They were a very biased show that only looked at shooters and action games highly, and then hated RPGs and other games and as such reviewed them poorly. HELL, they made FFXIII GAME OF THE YEAR (AKA the RPG series that is no longer RPG, but has changed in order to appease the action-oriented Western fanbase). If anything, I would have really liked for them to have SOMEONE on the show who WASN'T an action-game maniac, and therefore have some variety.
Anyway. I would have watched had that happened. Farewell, X-Play. And may angels sing thee to thy sleep.

Sessler left earlier this year, actually. There was a contract dispute, and it seems that his departure wasn't amicable. Kevin Pereira left AOTS shortly after and received a sendoff, but Adam Sessler was removed with no real mention of it on G4 or its website, and the network only responded when directly questioned by news sites. About all that was really mentioned was something from Sessler on twitter, so it seems like things got heated. I suspect we'll hear from him again down the road since there is a pretty good chance he signed a non-competition agreement that would keep him from working for other company's that would love to have him.
Personally, I hadn't watched Xplay in years since they changed their approach. The show used to be pretty funny and give good reviews with a comedic edge to them. At some point, they opted to be like every other gaming news/review outlet and just do basic reviews and previews. It seemed rather pointless to me to keep watching when I had more convenient sources that provided the same or better content.

I quit watching G4 a couple of years ago. It is still sad to see X-Play and AOTS go though. Seeing as how Adam quit earlier this year I am not surprised that X-Play is getting canceled.
TechTV was awesomem G4 was not.

The only reason to watch X-Play was for the stupid skits.
All the actual gaming news and info could be found quicker and easier on the internet. Old world information channels are completely obsolete.

Yeah I heard this on various sites and Facebook. I love both of those shows. Really sad to see both show to go. Very nice of ANN to report on this.
