Nikola Tesla was totally our Caster! Here's what else we came up with...

Saber - Jim Bowie
Assassin - John Wilkes Booth (Option B: Second Gunman on the Grassy Knoll)
Lancer - Neil Armstrong (he lanced all the way to the moon, then pierced it with an American flag spear!)
Rider - Rosa Parks
Archer - Billy the Kid (or Wyatt Earp, or Annie Oakley; the general idea was a classic old-west gunslinger)
Berserker - Old Yeller

We wanted to have a Native American hero in there, but to be honest, I don't know much about their legendary fighters. Nothing a bit of research wouldn't solve, I'm sure (if we ever had reason to make an updated list).

So yeah...totally water-cooler talk, right there.

If you're staying away from Confederate Cavalry generals as your Rider (Stuart, Forest, Morgan), then Crazy Horse would be a brilliant Rider.

@Veers and _Archer_

Wow. That's really something. Seems Urobuchi has more up his sleeve than one would think. See that's what you call mad respect. I love stories like this. When you have 2 creators that respect each other's work enough that they feel that they bring "more" to the table on a project. That's what you call serious trust.

Thanks for that bit of info. Wink Surprised

'skipped right to the cartoons'

aww you suck. The bad ends on the visual novel alone make it worth it.

Anywho, if you don't have any qualms about applying an unofficial translation patch, you can quite easily buy a legitimate copy from J-List.

I have copies of F/SN, F/HA, and Witch on the Holy Night all bought from J-List. The price is indeed high, but it's not like it's unavailable. Try it if you like.

Spending time in the Tiger Dojo with Taiga and Illya!

Ah, good times...

And yes, F/SN is best experienced through the VN, though I don't hate the anime by any means. It's just that you lose so many details in the anime that it's a very different experience, IMO.

You left Fate/hollow ataraxia and Fate/Apocrypha out of your article.

There's certain to be a bucketload of things he's left out, writing about a media family like "Fate/" will either be incomplete or unwieldy and absurdly long.

Any particularly interesting connection between these two and the things he included?

While Fate/Apocrypha isn't really all that important in the Fate franchise (it's a light novel spinoff), Fate/hollow ataraxia is this sequel to Fate/stay night.

Well, I still enjoy his feelings exactly, I would be the same too!
