First episode wasn't as bad as people tend to say. The title's what's mostly off-putting.

I wasn't surprised that CR got that show for streaming. When I got done watching the first episode yesterday and then later yesterday night I said to myself that this is probably one of the shows CR is gong to get and it seems I was right about it.

You ought to polish it off with a Gangnam Style horse riding dance at the end. Reading the synopses left me entirely unsurprised that CR got it ... and reminded me why it was not on my hope-to-watch list. |

It's being skewered for its premise. This makes for a comedic rant, but if you think about it, half the shows out there could be portrayed as the most offensive thing if you zero in on a few particular quirks. What we really have is a trite and straightforward romantic comedy, presented with bits of mild service. The show isn't particularly interesting yet, but the directorial and visual work rise above average. Sakurasou won't be the next Toradora, as the producers probably hope. However, for those looking for a favorite punching bag, this is probably the wrong show. Look for Kiss x Sis, Kanokon, or other series of that ilk. |
