What I'm wondering the most is how Phoenix gets his law license back. Can you really regain it after it's stripped from you?

New girl looks like Fuuro from Best Wishes... not as cute as Mayoi or Minuki, though.

Awesome. Now if only they'll get around to releasing Miles Edgeworth Investigations 2. I bet people are getting tired of the same protagonist, although I do see quite high potential for their new "gimmick" system.

OMG This seriously just made my day! I figured that after they didn't release the Ace Attorney Investigations sequel here we had lost all hope of Ace Attorney 5 too...
I agree that the new assistant girl isn't as cute. Though I didn't think Kay was very cute at first either, and she really grew on me, so maybe that'll happen with this girl as well.

I don't think people will get tired of Phoenix Wright being the main protagonist as long as there are new cases to play through. Once you start playing Ace Attorney, you just don't want to stop because you always want to know what happens next.

Well, they tried to do a new protagonist but it didn't work out so well. Not really because of the new protagonist but they're backpedaling in any case.

Sweet! I didn't think this would make it stateside, either. Definitely a preorder-worthy game.

Gyakuten Saiban 4 was the top selling game in the franchise. How did it not 'work out so much'? And the spin off ones starring Reiji sold more than all the main games except for the first one. I doubt gamers are against a new character, it's probably for story-reasons they went back to the first protagonist.

In most of the US at least, you can't be disbarred permanently.
With Japan, who the hell knows?

I love Nick, and I'm glad to have him back. Yes, it sucks that AAI2 is STILL in limbo (I have the Japanese version on the way, and will do all I can to support an English version if it comes out), but I plan to preorder AA5 as soon as I can.
Plus, a legitimate copy will look awesome next to all my other AA stuff.

I would like to think that if AA5 does well enough that they'll go ahead and release AAI2. I know I'll certainly invest in a copy of both if and when they do.
What I'd like to know is if they are planning on a version for the regular DS. I can do without the new graphics if it means I get to play the game without having to get a 3DS to play it on.

I'd be more excited about this if 1. I actually played this series and 2. I wasn't afraid Capcom would screw it up some how.

NOTE: my post contains major spoilers for the 4th game in the series, released as Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney in the US.
My biggest question about this what they are going to do about the Jurist system introduced at the end of Apollo Justice. While a part of me was pleasantly surprised that for once I didn't have to go to quite as absurd lengths as normal to prove my client innocent, at the same time, it felt a little anti-climatic. More than a little actually. I think part of the charm of the series stems directly from the fact that the legal system is so screwed up, and that everything is so stacked against you.
So, what are they going to do for this game? I'm not sure that how they will manage things and make it as enjoyable as before if we deal with jury trials now. But if they suddenly backpedal and say that after everything that happened, the Jurist system still wasn't adopted, it will mean that the last seven years of Phoenix's life will have been pretty much wasted. That would not be satisfying, after everything he did to reform the court system, I don't want it all thrown away.
So it seems like they are damned if they do, damned if they don't. Maybe they can say that the Jurist system is being adopted, but it won't see widespread use throughout the country until a few years, and this game takes place before it gets fully implemented. That might work for this game at least.
