I'm pretty sure it's still going. I heard the artist is sick so that is the reason why it takes so long to release new stuff. The manga is really good, so I recommend it.

The author should be okay now. That's a good thing, Hunter X Hunter is really good--I also recommend it. When I read the first volume, I could understand why people were making such a big deal out of it.

It is good, but the art. OH boy. It just gets worse as it goes on, but the story is very good. However, it's moving so slow in Japan. After coming back from a long break, he did a few chapters, then got sick, meaning another hiatus. Manga that came out 2 or 3 years after HxH have started to catch up in terms of chapter number. I haven't read past volume 15, so I dont know how fast the story itself moves, but the rate at which the chapters are released it what's slow.

The story gets extremely exciting around volume 10ish, so it is worth reading.

Sadly, imo, the latest story arc of the Chimera Ants really isnt working for me. Everything up untill the Ryodan story-arc was really well done, but after that it slowly degenerates. Greed Island had some really good ideas, but I felt it didn't live up to its potential.

Anime cry i miss the genei ryodan

yeah that arc isn't working for me... the chimera ant's designs reminds me of dragonball z, and we don't get to the other main characters kurapika and leorio much (we only get to see killua and gon)

i was also sad when some minor characters like spoiler[pakuto (i dont think that's his name, the guy with the hat and bow and arrow) was killed by the chimera ants... =( ]

the art is getting lazier, but that's proabbly because he's sick, but someone posted that the art is later revised when put into the volumes
