But he is so dreamy, he is a rebel against the system, though also morally good. He does not go out to make lots of friends, so any affection he shows And have you seen those pixels? *whistles* Something important was bothering me before, I remember the first playing including them able to use the opposite gender, and apparently there is working |

Been there, done that. With the holodeck. Remember in episode one all the avatars were forced to resemble the actual person operating them. ("You're a guy!?" ha ha). |

because that's side story? hmm. in alot of Anime, when the main characters got a new weapon or new power, they don't use it in the next ep. spoiler[How do you know that he won't use that sword this week?] I don't know care if you are a literature, theater, or creative writing major. There should be more than one way to tell a story. There should be more than one way to write.[/spoiler] |

@Spotlesseden I find it odd that the anime series has been side stories up until now. I don't think a side story needs to be exclusively irrelevant to the main plot. It seems like a side story tying into the main story in even a small way is preferable to not at all. Fillers on the other hand would fit your response to Blood- flawlessly.
Based on that: why would you start an anime out with fillers? These side stories would make sense in a long-running anime like Fairy Tail in order to fill in bits about various characters over time. SAO is essentially doing the same...except almost entirely with disposable characters. I'm not saying I dislike SAO, so clearly something is being done right, but it's merely unusual. |

I find your answer lame. It seems no matter what, some SAO fans simply won't accept that maybe there would be a better way to handle some aspect of this show. Who cares if it was a side story? Who cares if in a lot of anime (and I notice you don't cite even one example) when main characters get a new weapon, they don't use it in the next episode? How tough would it have been for SAO to do this? It would have, in a minor way, helped militate against the somewhat annoying sense of random episodic nature that some of us are not enjoying with this show's love of Side-Storyism. |

Hmmmm. . . maybe they don't end up fighting it alone, then? Either way, looks like we're going to have our first front-liner boss fight since episode 2, with Kleine in the mix, too. Seems promising! |

I'm definitely looking forward to that, too. And I have a bit more time on my viewing hands after dropping both Tari Tari and Natsuyuki Rendevous.

Eh, just wasn't digging it. Didn't really bond with any of the characters. I was two eppies behind (including last Sunday's) and when I realized that catching up was actually going to be a bit of a chore, I decided to flush the title. I don't think it's a bad show by any means, it's just not resonating with me.

Talking about dropping shows, I wish I could drop that Arcana show, but I am at the point where I feel like I would have wasted time, and I guess a similar feeling for Tanken Driland. Don't think I am dropping anything, even if it is a chore, I think that is proof of addiction or something.
I have been enjoying Tari Tari, but I can sympathize with a bit of chore feel. |

I dropped Arcana after three and I'm quite enjoying Tanken Driland's fluffiness.

Dropped it after 1.5. The real winners are those that never started it. |

The genki girl? Are you talking about the girl from A Murder Case in the Area? Because if so, she has 0 interest in Kirito and is dating the other guy from those episodes... Just when I think of a harem anime I don't think of a show where literally only one girl is actively pursuing the main character. You're basically just complaining about the natural fact that people fall for attractive people who are talented and nice. Sorry, but that doesn't make it unrealistic nor does it rule it out of the "that could really happen camp" There are plenty of problems with the anime to be upset about, the extreme condensing of the story, presenting these side stories in a fashion and order not intended by the author, and basically just skipping 2 years of them living in the game that you don't need to find silly things to complain about like a person of great achievement being popular. |
