Hmmm, maybe the same shall happen for SAO then, I will consider an import of SAO, not as interested in Accel.

Accel World is being released by Warner Brothers whereas SAO is Aniplex. Giving the different production committees, I don't think there is much of a connection. |

They really should have done this with P4. And admittedly, way before with Kurokami.
My policy; Crippled release = No buy. No exceptions whatsoever.. Accel is one I'm following, and one I like enough to at least consider this option if there's no equivalent English release, ie if Viz doesn't opt for a physical release. |

CDjapan doesn't list anything about subs for Accel World
Same as AmiAmi and Amazon Japan. No subs in the details and the first volume was already released. |

This does mean Little busters may have subtitles though, since that is also Warner Brothers. I might need to import that one.. |

I wouldn't say that follows either. Inclusion of English subtitles is rare by any Japanese publisher (Dog Days had them... but most Aniplex titles do not, etc). I suppose it's possible for any series to have them, but it depends on what the production committee decides (if they even think about it and I'm guessing they mostly don't). |

This post over on AoD/Mania seems to state that they're there, and it doesn't matter what CDJapan, AmiAmi and Amazon say or don't say. Since WTK responds to the post, I presume that's where the info that went into the tweet that ANN's referring to in the article came from. Eww... That last sentence is kinda ugly. |

In the past maybe, but its not so rare these days, as long as we are talking about BD. Haruhi boxset, Gundam Seed remaster boxsets, Gundam Age, Yamato 2199, Gundam Unicorn, Wings of honneamise, the GitS theatrical AND tv movies, Patlabor movies, Jin-roh...all these had English subs (and are just the ones I could think of off the top of my head). |

Re-releasing boxsets of shows that had a R1 release is not exactly the same thing as including English subtitles/dub on a new release. Take the number of shows that air in any season and count the number that include English subtitles. You're not going to find more than a couple that include them. Which is to say... most titles do not have them (even if they exist for streaming purposes). |

It isn't uncommon to find errors on CDJapan's listings, especially the initial ones. |

Gundam Unicorn, Gundam AGE and Yamato 2199 ARE new AND (in the case of Unicorn and 2199) are ongoing releases and the Gundam SEED remaster has had enough new stuff added/changed to be considered a new product. I'm not saying that every new show has subtitles but that they ARE becoming more common than they were. It's mostly a Bandai initiative at this point and most are using the same agency for their subtitles but other publishers may well follow their example in the future. |
