So Ruka is on the show? Well.. no problem since the story was written by Hata himself :3
I wonder if A-tan also made an appearance here

Nice to see they kept all the seiyuu, but the character designs are so radically different from the first 2 seasons that I have some doubts about how well it's going to do. Still, I look forward to this!

character design doesn't matter. as long as they rush the story a little. Don't need to have 100% of the manga in the anime and no more filters eps.

Dunno what exactly you're trying to say, but its a totally new story that wasn't in the manga.

Kotoko isn't doing the opening? aww that's kinda a shame she's sung the opening music for both seasons at this point so not having her do the third season is odd.
Eyelis though? It's just a cover band from my understanding. They put out a CD not to long ago with HnG, TWGOK and some other theme songs and the mangaka for TWGOK even drew them a CD cover. I'm not a fan of them they sound right off niconico, far from any professional singer.

Yeah, the new character designs are nicer than the movie designs. I agree that the J.C. Staff designs were the most attractive, but I was a bit put out by the transition from Synergy to J.C. as well. I'm still looking forward to this!

I guess this is confirming that it will be continuing with the notable omission of from the movie. No Norio Wakamoto.
I guess if you want to distinguish yourself from the previous series removing one of the most unique aspects of the previous one is a way to go.

What is this crap? Hayate seems to be slowly devolving into the Negima mess where there are several competing anime not tying into each other with no solid continuum across the whole story.
They are saying its original material not found in the manga, so its canon in the sense the original author is involved, but in reality its either filler or spinoff depending on which route you take. The manga has almost 400 chapters, how hard is to continue adapting that?
I mean best case scenairo you get something like the original FMA, which diverged from the manga at the mid point, and thats probably not going to happen.

They might be aiming for new viewers. While successful, season 2 wasn't exactly a humongous hit, and it has been over three years since then.

There's something...off, about that art. Hopefully it's just a quirk of this page and not a design issue.

I think this is basically it. A direct continuation of a show from three years ago adapting manga stories from five years ago isn't exactly super newbie friendly. Besides, HnG is more popular now then it was when Season Two came out, so the newer stories are probably more familiar to a lot of people.
I've got mixed feelings about how well this is going to work, but we won't know for sure until it's out.

My problem with them is not using newer stories, its them making up the stories; Id have less of a problem if they didn't continue directly from season 2 but contained manga material, but this is supposedly all new material with no relation to the manga.

Considering it's written by the mangaka, though, what's the real problem with it? It essentially becomes a true side-story to the manga. Who cares if the pictures move or not, it's the same author!
