This is sweet music too my ears. I hope mr. Cameron finds the right girl and all the other things required to make a succesfull Live-Action of Battle Angel Alita.

Weird bit of news. I look a lot like Alita and fit the age range perfectly, but I'm camera shy like all hell, so that's not happening. Plus, I'm not really impressed by James Cameron's past works, for some reason...

I don't think they're looking for an actress per se in the normal sense. Everything I've heard about the film is that it is live action but the character of Alita is going to be done with CGI a la Jar Jar Binks. So I guess maybe an actress would serve as the computer model of her and it's possible someone else could voice her. The movie is also going to be in 3-D. I find it incredible that Cameron hasn't made a real film since Titanic (I'm not counting his documentaries). We're only given so many years to live and he's not getting any younger. It doesn't sound like Alita is coming out any time soon. I'm also kinda curious whether he's going to try to tell a one-time story about her or make a first movie with sequels in mind. It would be cool if he maybe covered just the first two manga, which I consider to be the best of the series. The story of her creation and the love story with Hugo were great. But for some reason, knowing Cameron he'll be doing the motorball sequence, which I found repetitive and dull on most points.

I believe Cameron stated in Wired that the movie would take elements from the first three volumes of the manga, so yes, motorball will be included in the movie. I'm looking forward to it.

Um, how? Do you actually know how Sakechan looks? Not that I know, but I'm not sure if she looks anything like Chise at all or not. I on the other hand, would make a great Battle Angel Alita, whether I'm a girl or not.
