Yes, Yes!

A classic.

The animation is older in style, tho' not that primitive when compared to US TV animation.

The bikers are also 'old style'.

This is one of the crown jewels of the golden age of mecha shows as our hero gets involve in a conspiracy that will put 2 galaxies in the brink of war

animation is standards for it's time (Early~ Mid 80's) with a cool storyline and lots of the cool stuff that you don't get on modern anime, this one is gritty to the core

a 100% recommendation on this one

So, good seiyuu, powerful/dramatic storyline, quality action?
If it fits that bill, I may have to get my hands on that kinda scratch...

I have a question...

Will the Votoms re-release be available in stores (like Suncoast or Best Buy)? Or will they only available through a preorder or online?

Thanks in advance.

Peter Tatara from CPM has confirmed that it will indeed get a regular retail release in addition to this exclusive offer.

The four arcs will be available individually for $34.95 each and when it's all done there will be a complete box set for $149.95, which will come with the metal case, bonus disc and book (the individual release will not.)

So it's like the Zeta Gundam release, only with less pencil sharpeners.

Kinda stinks that this release won't have Shining Heresy.

Ah. Thanks a lot.

Now I know I should at least check Votoms out, now that I can just pick it up in-store, for less than $40 a set no less.

VOTOMS is good stuff. The characters are well conceived, and as others have said, the animation is pretty much the standard for early 80s mecha shows.

A couple old press quotes about it that I found digging around on this here site...

“Votoms is certainly a major event for American fandom…episodes demonstrate an appealing grittiness that’s a rare find in most animated science fiction.”-Animerica

“Votoms is probably one of the most realistic war stories in anime and is the proof of Takahashi’s fantastic talent in the field.” -Protoculture Addicts

They used to have a couple episodes streaming on Sputnik7.com until they stopped streaming anime altogether. What happened there, anyway?
