I wonder if NISA would be interested in picking these up? NISA doesn't really do PC or 360 so it's no wonder last year's ports weren't picked up, but the coming PS3 port of the first two games and a new game could be of interest to them.

If more popular console VN adaptions like Clannad and Fate Stay Night were never picked up for US release, I doubt Muv Luv will be.

It all depends if there is any western company willing to license the games from 5pb. 5pb has an interest in getting their games released in the west, but who knows how much they'll ask or what they want to do.
I can definitely see this as a digital download if someone did bring over here.

Keep this in mind this my opinion:
Hell no.
I like NISA and all but come on. They rarely release 360 titles (if ever) and considering the series already has 360 ports, that just would be painful because they probably wouldn't bother with them and only release the PS3 versions.
With games like this, you need to hit both systems for the maximum effect considering how niche the series is and the stigma that anime-esque character designs carry in North America and what not.
If I'm remembering right, Kouki said that the series was niche even in Japan. (Part of the reason why they're not risking everything with a main trilogy adaption and instead going with a Total Eclipse adaption most likely)
OT: Hey, good news for PS3 owners who've never bothered with the series. Hopefully, they use the same themes as they did for the 360 ports because I'm still waiting for a full Metamorphose and First Pain.
The TE game sounds like it could be action-date-sim in all honesty. Maybe a little of Ace Combat thrown in for good measure? Could be awesome.

Actually, the MuvLuv series is one of the big names in eroge. It's pretty much required playing, right up there with Sharin no Kuni and Fate Stay/Night.

Unless it's turn based. (I didn't read article, just title.)

The real reason why the main trilogy was not animated was because it was hard to find sponsors.
Why it was hard to find sponsors? (Some of the reasons are from Kouki himself)
-Sudden Genre Change, it is difficult to pull off in anime. Think about how all the mech fans will be disappointed by the Extra, then how all the Extra fans will be disappointed by Unlimited+Alternative. (New fans, off course people who played the VN will like it)
-They are already selling merchandise so what's the point of the anime
-It may be criticized as conservative (Anyone can try to deny it, but Muv-Luv is definitely conservative and tries to convince it's watchers to be more nationalistic)
-Anti American (This is subjective, but America is heavily portrayed in Alternative to be more of a obstacle [Such as congress], although one can say (Anti-American Goverment) instead)
