Took seemingly a very long time, but 4kids finally sold off Yu-Gi-Oh. I bet the Yu-Gi-Oh fans are very happy about this.

But Konami is a pretty decent company, so maybe they can fix any damage 4kids did to the Yu-Gi-oh series. That will be one heck of a feat for Konami though, power to them though.

This is a joke right? Konami's a pretty terrible company. They treat their fans like trash, milk a small handful of franchises constantly, release games with absolutely no marketing at all, and throw hissy fits when the press calls them out on it.

Wasn't that way last time I heard about Konami, but the way I look at it, 4kids still takes the cake in several areas.

At least 4kids no longer has Yu-gi-oh, I imagine that is all that matters to some of the fans.

Konami of America ain't much better when it comes to Yu-Gi-Oh. Where as 4Kids is Vader, Konami is probably their Palpatine.

Even ignoring censorship, the US card game is kind of a mess. They change some mechanics, alter the content of card sets, change rarities, don't bring over certain cards/sets, and do all sorts of pointless and harmful stuff. I doubt the dub quality of the anime will change much, if at all.

2 - What ever happened to the Digimon rights?

Disney had Digimon last, and now as far as I know no one has it, I guess it reverted back to TOEI/TOEI USA, so maybe SABAN could try to snatch it back up, but I heard the Masters were lost, heck even Mad Man just used Fox-Kids rips for their DVD sets.

So wait, the Mad Man DVD's used illegal TV Rips of Digimon? What did they do, download them online or something? xD

I believe that was only the case for the audio, from my understanding. The footage used the Japanese masters and was re-cut/edited to fit.

I'm surprised there aren't any master copies ANYWHERE. You would think being such a big series, Saban would of taken better care of them.

It's actually the TV broadcast masters as confirmed here, here & here.

Blame DISNEY not Saban, they were the ones who showed the series last. It aired onn Jetix on ABCFamily & Toon Disney before it changed to DisneyXD.

Wow, it also has YTV TV Rips. Would anyone be able to show some screenshots of it? This is very interesting.

This pretty much confirms that the English dub of Zexal will remain consistent with editing and voice cast. Take that as you will. I don't know why anyone would expect Konami to be much different about handling the franchise at all.

Disney never had Digimon. The English dub of the last couple of seasons was handled by Toei USA (formerly known as Cloverway, who also handled Bobobo... and Seasons 3-4 of Sailor Moon). Disney only distributed the series onto their networks.

The best news to come from this? A REAL Saturday morning cartoon block with Power Rangers, and hopefully some other goodies! Saturday morning pretty much died before I was even born (I was raised on Nick and Cartoon Network), but it still would be neat to experience it. Razz My only exposure to Saturday morning kids' programming was FoxBox/4KidsTV.

wow, you must be a real youngin' purplewarrior. You missed out on some great saturday morning blocks like fox kids (this was way before the fox box, probably around 10 years), one saturday morning on abc, and kids wb (before wb merged with upn to form the cw). Those were the days, now I just sleep through those hours Rolling Eyes

That's sadly unlikely.

Well, I just turned 18 a couple weeks ago. I knew some kids who watched some Fox Kids, but I was too young to comprehend what was going on! Anime hyper In the late 90s, it was Nick Jr. and PBS Kids (mostly the former), and in the early 2000s, it was Cartoon Network, and some Nick! By that point, Saturday Morning TV was nothing like it was. Heck, at the very end of ABC Kids' run, it was only an extension of the Disney Channel! Anime hyper

Cable TV and the FCC guidelines pretty much killed Sat. Mornings as we know it. Razz

Here's to hoping that Season 0 gets released as The Lost Episodes.
