I have been watching Blood+ and looking at the conspircary where the U.S. Goverment and milatary are making vampire like chreatures for war, but is is starting to get out of hand and they are walking around Okanawa now. And I was wondering while it is part of the storyline, but because of the content dose anyone else think that it may keep it from being licensed in the U.S.? I only ask this because the series so far seems to have some anti-American millatary messages in it.
Then agian I may be looking to hard and overeacting to things.

Well, Read or Die depicted the American military as a bunch of over-ready thugs itching for a fight, and the president of the US as an indignant, pants-wetting coward. And yet both the OVA and TV series were licensed without a hitch.

Good point, but it was more comical in RODD, where as in Blood+ it seems to be their to make a rather large statement.

Hm..Well, it doesn't really bother me with the conspiracy of Blood+ and the U.S. X_x;; I really don't care about that. I mean, I watch it because it's good to watch. ^-^
And I was thinking the same. They probably won't dub it or liscense it because of that problem.

Good old American government.
I can see why they wouldn't license it for that reason, but the way I see it, if the American government had nothing to hide, they would licence it without worrying, which brings me back to my main belief... AMERICA IS EVIL!

What are you talking about? The American government isn't going to license this, it would be a company like ADV or Funimation and I sure the American government could give a rats ass about what an anime show says. Second, with things like the crap Michel Moore is putting out aganist America, why would you think this would have any sort of problem? Comments like this bring me back to my belief... Anyone will say anything, no matter how stupid, to hate on America.

I never said that the American government was going to license it, I was saying how it would make it seem as though America were the bad guys. And don't call my beliefs stupid, most Americans are blinded by the American government. What kind of nation would shoot their own president because he wanted to stop a war? America. What kind of nation sells firearms to poor countries that are at war with eachother and are on the verg of destrution? America. I think my reason's for hating America are pretty good, you stick with your beliefs, I'll stick with mine and we'll both shut up about it. Ok? Ok.

Speaking of Blood +,
this series isn't all that bad, but GOD do they really have to be so extremely dramatic about everything? In the last episode you see the girl swinging her sword around abit, everyone suddenly goes super emotional and an epic bombastic song suddenly starts playing. O-V-E-R-K-I-L-L

I don't hate Americans, don't get me wrong. I just don't like the way your government works. And again, don't get me wrong, the people who run your government are extreamly smart people to come up with ways to make the kind of money they do, how do you think America is so rich?

Well I guess you can blame Production I.G. for signing Mark Mancina and Hans Zimmer to do the score. Their work is renowned for being very epic and dramatic sounding. It may work in a lot of live-action movies, but perhaps it's a little too much for an anime?
Personally, this is the first time I can even recollect an anime score being composed by such Hollywood bigshots, and I like it (loved the scores for The Last Samurai and Batman Begins, by the way).

Wow, never really thought much about this series and suddenly I'm curious.

Comments like yours bring me back to my belief that some people will say anything to defend America, no matter what we do or how we do it. When the news of supposedly secret jails in Eastern Europe came out, all Americans were pissed, but half of them were only pissed because the news got out, and not because having secret prisons is an affront to everything we stand for and only serves to bring us down to the level of our most despicable enemies.
Anyway, back to the topic, I hope that Blood+ makes it here so I can check it out.

Why is everyone getting excited about this? America bashing is popular in certain Japanese circles. This is nothing more then appealing to a certain audience.
PS - A lot of Asia loves US money, but isn't so hot about America itself...
