Awesome! Big time first day buy! First real SRPG for the 3DS(I don't count the remake of Devil Survivor), I hope its a sign for things to come!

Heh, not a peep about it at E3 and instead just a short Twitter message. Shows just how much faith they have in the game.
That out of the way, HELL YEAH FIRE EMBLEM!!!
Also, this just proves how irrelevant E3 has become to me. All the announcements that I actually care about never happen at E3....

That's actually not true. What happened was that Reggie Fils-Aime, the president of Nintendo of America, was talking with Stephen Totilo and Jason Schreier of Kotaku.com and Rich George of IGN after the Nintendo 3DS Software Showcase on June 6 2012. He stated that Fire Emblem: Awakening for the Nintendo 3DS was coming state-side, not realizing that the game wasn't mentioned anywhere in the press kits. So, Nintendo of America just decided to announce that the game would be coming state-side via Twitter.

I would like to point out that nothing has actually been said about paid downloadable content for Fire Emblem: Awakening being available in North America. While in theory, there should be, it should also be kept in mind some of the paid downloadable content includes characters from past Fire Emblem games, most of which have never been legally available outside of Japan. Nintendo of America may just as well choose to skip this type of downloadable content. Some characters, however, such as Marth, Roy, and Eirika have a better chance of coming state-side as downloadable content.

Nintendo tends not to mention titles that won't come out within the year (which is probably for the best). Awakening also has a pretty big script to localize so good luck seeing it for awhile.

Really hoping that it comes out this summer. Pokemon conquest only took 3 months to localize, and same probably goes for BW2 so I have faith that it could be translated quickly (and don't give me any lectures about localization).
