posted on by Kimberly Grace
Nintendo of America confirmed Wednesday on its Twitter account that the Fire Emblem: Awakening (Fire Emblem: Kakusei) strategy role-playing game will get a release on the Nintendo 3DS in the U.S. The company had previously registered the domain name fireemblemawakening.com in April. Nintendo of America did not specify a release date for the game.
Nintendo released Fire Emblem: Awakening in Japan on April 19. The game sold more than 300,000 copies in its first two weeks.
Developed by Intelligent Systems, the latest title in the Fire Emblem fantasy series will incorporate two-player co-op gameplay. Fire Emblem: Awakening introduces new features while retaining gameplay elements from the series' previous installments. For the first time, Nintendo will also offer paid downloadable content for a 3DS handheld system game.
Nintendo of Europe will also release the game in Europe.
