Yeah, thought it was too good to be true. Rolling Eyes
Not expecting this to come out, but it would be nice. Unless they dub the songs, in which case it's import time.

Miku only does Japanese - how they hell would they dub the songs?

Dubbing the songs would completely destroy the game. Probably why Namco has never bought over Idolmaster even though its got a hardcore fanbase over here who would buy it.. Namco refuses to release sub only stuff and dubbing those songs would ruin the product.

I don't know how they'd do it. It was just an off-hand comment.

This.

It's literally IMPOSSIBLE to do such.

Not sure how they do it for English, but it would be neat to do it like this:

Hatsune Miku sings My Heart Will Go On

Thought it sounded a bit weird, but still nice.

This is a little better video of Miku singing in English using her regular voicebank - I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)

Dubbing the songs could work once her proper English voicebank comes out, but that will be a lot of work translating the lyrics into English and timing and tuning it to the song.

I can see the game work as a download only title. The other question for bringing the game over is music licensing which can be easy or hard depending on who owns the rights.

How is Sega ever going to gauge interest in the franchise's games when they are taking a risk-free approach to exhibiting their game? The only way to know if your games can be successful or not is by bringing them here. Market one or two of the Project Diva games and decide for yourself whether or not they are viable in the Western market. Just jumping to conclusions or assuming the whole Western market is pro-FPS is not the way to go.

If the Japanese companies(such as Sega, Konami), persist with this cowardice, they can rest assure they will economically stagnate or die off in the near future. They can have all the Sonic, Resident Evils, or Yugiohs they want but that's not going to be enough to keep them competitive or afloat with VG titans such as Activision, EA, Rockstar, and Square Enix.

CoD and all it's clones disagree with you.

Japanese companies don't care about being competitive with western companies given western games 99% of the time to terrible in Japan. PSP does amazing in Japan, even if no one cares about it in the US, or how the 360 does well in the US but no one cares about it in Japan.

I dont know they had the Miku concert at Anime Expo last year, and they started bringing out Miku products here with the T shirts at hot topic. Maybe not with this game, but they might attempt some other future product releases in the future.

I dunno, but it seems to me that they would do a lot better job of "gauging interest" if they brought the demo to big anime cons or something (basically places that would be filled with the people who may actually buy the game), as opposed to an industry event full of other developers and journalists who will either try it just so they can report on it or be too interested in all the AAA FPS clones to care.

Still though, interest has apparently been good so there is hope yet.

Also, as for dubbing the songs, they DID do an English version of Worlds End Dancehall, so its not too far-fetched that someone with enough time on their hands would try to do the others.
