Oh we're just so [expletive] shocked at that.

How about you try not commenting on things you don't like. Just for a [expletive] bit of variety.

Hey man, shouldn't you be posting about the hot lesbian sis-con potential here?

I haven't watched the video yet (at work, no speakers), you talk way more about my supposed interests far more than I do, and what the hell is "Hot lesbian sis-con" even supposed to mean?

While the main girl looks good, I'm pretty intrigued by the black haired girl.

Cannot wait for this.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually getting hype for this.

Hopefully this will get licensed, but it seems likely.

My personal hype for this is off the scale.

Yeah, I reckon this will get simulcasted too, fortunately.

We haven't seen any animation and barely know anything about the story or characters beyond a few vague, superficial details. Doesn't that make it a little premature to have any strong feelings on it, one way or the other?

Well, for me, it's because it shares the writer and director of my first and second favorite anime, and the posted story clues push all my buttons. It's way too rare to see optimistic SF these days.

I actually felt similarly hyped about Last Exile 2, and was disappointed. Still, it did a lot of things I liked, and was only really killed by the lifeless character animation. But that was Gonzo, and this is A-1, so I don't think we'll have anything to fear on that point.

For me, its the talent behind it. The people behind Strike Witches, Guilty Crown, Idolmaster and Ano Hana all have large parts in this... and since its A-1, its guaranteed to have great animation. I always get hyped more for original anime by the people working on it then anything.

Or some lazy animation as seen in some episodes of Idolm@ster, but that's a little more understandable due to length and certain parts probably killed their budget.

Anywho, regarding the hype - besides what everyone else has mentioned, I'm a huge fan of ASCII Mediawork's Dengeki imprint. Dengeki knows their audience and technically should know what will do well for them. Well, I'm consider myself part of that audience, so I have faith that the people from Dengeki who are involved in the project know what they are doing working with everyone else.

I don't know if I'd call the Strike Witches anime a great series (though I certainly liked it) but I really liked the direction. The battle scenes were awesome and the quiet pretty bits were stunning. Both episode sixes come strongly to mind here. Plus the music (though that was more the soundtrack itself than particularly how it was used; I love the music in Strike Witches).
