I wish I could have gone to Sakura-Con. I think Lisa would be fun to see, but A-Kon is a total disappointment. I mean, SC got Stereopony! Oh well, I hope some folks enjoy these guys. Not my style.

I'd heard of this group but I had no idea they featured Rudy Sarzo, currently of Blue Oyster Cult! I'll support Rudy, oh yes I will!

Funny, I don't see most anime being able to inspire heavy metal. Wonder what portions of anime, or which anime, they draw inspiration from, other than the likes of Detroit Metal City?

I love their versions of "Uchu Senkan Yamato" (Space Battleship Yamato) and "Zankoku Tenshi no Thesis" (Evangelion).
I'd love to hear their versions of "Yuzurenai Negai" (Magic Knight RayEarth) and "Ai Oboete Imasu Ka" (Macross) Very Happy

Their inspiration would have nothing to do with Detroit Metal City, nor really anything associated with anime about rock music or heavy metal. They simply use anime itself as a sort of branding imagery.

I don't listen to metal and I don't even like it, but I'll probably go to the concert anyway just to be able to say yes I've been to an Animetal concert.

They did a really awesome Mazinger Z theme too.

I'm jelly. Rarely go to cons and what not but I'd love to see these guys. I'm not even a fan of metal but I like quite a few of the covers they've done.
