What, it was now going to be released by Viz? I'm not really sure if Viz is going to release uncut version very unlikely. I hope they can release uncut sometimes next year. Just I'm pretty glad that it is now going to be released by Viz instead of Toei.

Gosh...is Toei giving up the DVD idea? After you, know, doing a terrible job the whole time.

Okay, TV-English dub only. Seriously, NO ONE LIKES IT. What is the point?

I imagine that Toei have abandoned the idea of releasing things domestically, however all of their Shonen Jump Anime titles (Slam Dunk, etc) automatically default to VIZ media.

Considering there seems to be, or there will not be, any R1 version of One Piece with an uncut dub or English subtitles for a Japanese track, what exactly will the Region 4 Uncut One Piece work from? I'm thinking that whatever Madman have, it's not going to be the entire thing.

Khan hates anime fans.

Yeah, this'll sell like a Christmas tree in April.

It's not so much that he hates Anime fans, it's just that he doesn't care, neither do Viz or Toei, yet Naruto (which is INSANELY inferior) is getting an uncut release (with what I can assume to be a yearly release, jeeesus).

Anime is a priviledge, sure, but being able to buy a compotent, worthwhile release in English should be a right.

What are you talking about? Viz DOES care about anime fans. Their treatment of Naruto in terms of the dubbing and the DVD releases is what any fan would have wanted. And what the hell do you mean Naruto is "insanely inferior." It's good thank you very much. And those yearly releases are said to be 13-episode boxets. I find that much easier on my wallet and on my shelf than single 4-episode DVDs not to mention the convenience.

As for 4Kids, they deserve to crash and burn. Al Kahn is an ignorant and stupid businessman who doesn't know what he is talking about. With the success of Bandai, Geneon, ADV, FUNimations, CPM, Viz, Media Blasters, Manga, and TRSI, unedited anime with multilingual audio tracks are very profitable.

If Viz cared about anime fans, they wouldn't let this garbage come to pass. 4Kids is already required by law to produce an uncut version because of their contract with Madman, and I find it really hard to believe that Viz is just doing this without putting up any sort of fight.

I'm sure they did, but knowing them, 4Kids said no and they just went along with it.

....

What the heck?

Oh boy, so instead of the English dub DVD being released under Toei, it'll be under Viz's quaint little Shonen Jump DVD line.

Why not subtitled? Why not uncut? Gah...

True, but I'm waiting for 4Kids to crash and burn. Then, their licenses will be up for grabs for more competent companies like Geneon, Bandai, ADV, FUNimations, and Viz.

Also, I could care less about the DVDs since my finances won't be able to keep up with it (247 episodes and counting) and I'm happy with my fanscan mangas.

Viz said if sales for edit. Zatch are good, they'll release uncuts.

Not likely for One Piece.

And holy hell. Seriously. After checking the ANN page for this... 20 dollars? FOR THREE #$*!ING EPISODES!?

Oh my god. You're kidding me. 4Kids, you've got to be kidding me.

BanDai selling Gundam the TV series dub on DVD only was understandable, but can't sell One Piece without Japanese audio track. LAME!!!
