Edit: Wikipedia was wrong.

That's what ja.wikipedia says, but .lain says that the singer (Minehaha) voiced Yellow Belmont on Mospeada, and marumegane also says that same 松木美音 did the ending theme.

Whoever did the voice in Mospeada also did the ending theme in the same show.

What exactly is .lain and are they reliable?

Let's list the facts and the questionable info:

FACTS:

1. Singer Minehaha (ミネハハ), from Yokosuka, Kanagawa, used to be Mine Matsuki (松木 美音; まつき みね).

2. Mospeada has a seiyu / singer with kanji 松木 美音 voicing Yellow and performing Blue Rain.

QUESTIONABLE:

1. According to Wikipedia, the seiyu / singer 松木 美音 should be spelled "Mion Matsuki" (まつき みおん) and WAS NOT the singer Minehaha a.k.a. Mine Matsuki.
Quote:
テレビアニメ『機甲創世記モスピーダ』の声優・歌手である松木美音(まつき みおん)はミネハハとは別人である。

2. According to .lain and Les voix des Anges, Minehaha / Mine Matsuki WAS the seiyu of Yellow and singer of Blue Rain.

3. Amazon.jp has two users arguing over the same topic for the 2-CD set VICL-60415/6.

4. Using the search engine of Anison Generation for 松木美音, the result page would display マツキミオン at left, indication the seiyu / singer of Mospeada should be called "Mion Matsuki" -- or at least it's how Anison Generation believes.

5. Two blog entries, one "discovered" a record of Mospeada sung by Minehaha, the other being a Mospeada fan trying to contact her. Unfortunately, all three YouTube links in the former entry were either muted or disabled.

6. DrillSpin, a LinkedIn-like community website targeted at professionals, has Mospeada listed in Minehaha's profile.

An useful database, good but not highly reliable. In general I'd rank it higher than Wikipedia but lower than Anison Generation (by far the most reliable database of anime music).

+1 for Mine Matsuki by VGMdb.
(Quality varies, is sometimes surprisingly good with pictures & data for Japanese musicians without Wikipedia page, more complete than even Anison occasionally. For the case in question they only have the romanized name though.)

OK, so I tried contacting her website and actually got a response!
Minehaha was in Mospeada. I forgot to ask if her name used to be read "Mion" or "Mine" though.

I don't think I should post the email on a public forum, but I could forward it to dormcat or someone if they want to see it.

I will, but I'm guessing the "Mion" thing was bogus, too. I'm a bit baffled as to why the Japanese Wikipedians never tried emailing her to settle the issue. I suppose that would be "original research", which is against one of Wikipedia's many rules.
